The owl eye reflection thing is probably a slide, I think the message was simply that the owl guards the pope
The species appears to be Eurasian eagle-owl and probably a female by the shape of it's head, at least that's what I am seeing.

They protect the pope. Why all of a sudden do celebs treat him like the dalai lama? He must be high up in the cult. Must have some kind of ego to step out of the dark and become a public figure, it seems most like to control from behind the curtains but not the new pope
So Francis is a "man of his word", must be a double meaning there. Maybe the film is not about him as a pope, but him as a high ranking member in the cult. Is he fulfilling some promise or oath to the cult and/or their gods?
