Heavy rains bring flash flooding to Tuscaloosa

Tuscaloosa was inundated by flash flooding on Saturday, as Alabama was hit with heavy rain.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department said on social media on Saturday afternoon that they were looking for a driver whose vehicle had been swept away by floodwaters. Earlier in the day, they said they were responding to numerous reports of stranded vehicles, and urged drivers to stay off the roads.
The National Weather Service had warned of widespread flooding across the region, adding that it could receive between 50 and 76 milimetres of rain.
