Warships arrive in Glasgow this week as part of massive military exercise
The UK-led war exercise, which takes place annually in the spring and fall, sees the three forces join those of 13 other countries, including Belgium, Canada, the United States, France and Germany.
A Royal Navy spokesperson said: “This massive multinational war exercise involves warships, planes, navies and troops from the UK, NATO and Allied forces.
“The exercise not only allows participating units to refine their specialist roles within a broader war-style framework – it also helps strengthen the vital ties between the UK, NATO and other armies. allies. “
Taking place over two weeks, Joint Warrior includes airborne assaults, amphibious landings, evacuations and live fire exercises. HMS Prince of Wales is also expected to participate.
The multinational exercise will run from Saturday September 18 through Thursday September 30 and includes a number of participating ships departing from West Coast ports.
Warships leaving Glasgow are simply heading out to sea to the exercise area off the west coast of Scotland for the exercise - it is not a mass exodus.
