conduction requires better physical contact than these wraps offer
The reflection of convection will exceed the conduction in this case. conduction will be very poor due to air gaps. the wrapping will reflect heat. Even 0.001" air gap caused by surface roughness will crater any conduction effectiveness. (anon has related patent)
