GORDON: Durham Indictment In Russiagate Could Lead To Jake Sullivan

If Robert Mueller’s sprawling investigation into President Trump and associates for bogus allegations about a Russia conspiracy in the 2016 election was a Category 5 hurricane, John Durham’s probe into the corrupt origins of Russiagate has so far been a tropical depression.

Yet it’s also leaving some all wet. More should follow.

Democrat lawyer and former federal prosecutor Michael Sussmann of Perkins Coie, a law firm for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, was indicted by a federal grand jury last week for lying to the FBI during a September 2016 meeting with then-General Counsel James Baker.

Sussmann, a cybersecurity specialist who had represented the Democratic National Committee over its reportedly hacked servers which it refused to turn over to the FBI, gratuitously delivered “data files” to Baker alleging a secret server connection between Moscow’s Alfa Bank and Trump Tower. It became one of many Trump-Russia conspiracy theories debunked long after the damage was done. Sussmann is accused of misleading Baker that he wasn’t there on behalf of clients. Even worse, his clients allegedly included the Clinton campaign.

Congressional testimony in 2018 shows Baker himself fell under criminal investigation for alleged leaks to David Corn of Mother Jones and Mike Isikoff of Yahoo News, Russiagate’s first two journalist instigators. He was subsequently reassigned and then retired.

While most people probably never heard of Sussmann or Baker, more have heard of Hillary Clinton’s campaign foreign policy adviser Jake Sullivan, the current White House national security adviser. Sussmann’s charges could lead to him.

Based on press statements, declassified government documents and congressional testimonies, here’s a short list of Sullivan’s Russiagate profile:

On the Alfa Bank-Trump Organization server hoax, Sullivan fanned the flames with a press release tweeted by Hillary Clinton in October 2016 which noted, “…this could be the most direct link yet between Donald Trump and Russia”.

On Russiagate origins, then-CIA Director John Brennan’s declassified notes of a briefing to President Obama and top advisers in July 2016 reference “a proposal from one of her (Hillary Clinton) foreign policy advisers to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian security service.”

On Trump-Russia ties, Sullivan admitted during Congressional testimony in 2017 that he had met with reporters and producers from CNN, Fox News, ABC, CBS and NBC about his “suspicions” which were later exposed as conspiracy theories without evidence.

These were all lightning rods in the sabotage of a presidency through sparking limitless federal investigations and a years-long predatory media frenzy which overturned the lives of innocent people and their families purely for politics. Third world stuff.

CNN interviews grieving kids who blame Tucker Carlson for their unvaccinated dad's death from COVID

In an interview with CNN on Monday morning, a pair of teenagers who recently lost their unvaccinated father to COVID-19 said they blamed his death on misinformation about vaccines, specifically citing reporting from Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson.

Patrick Lane, a 45-year-old Boeing designer and father of two, died from COVID-19 late last month at around the same time the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave full approval to the Pfizer vaccine. Lane was reportedly healthy and had no underlying conditions. Yet even still, shortly after he was diagnosed, his health started quickly deteriorating.

Now his children, Katie and Evan, are making a public plea for others to get vaccinated. In their interview with CNN, the pair said that their father was not an "anti-vaxxer," but was hesitant about getting the vaccine due to reporting he came across from right-wing media outlets.

"There's multiple reasons, I think," Katie said when asked why her dad had not gotten the vaccine. "One of which was some of the media that he ingested. He wasn't by any means far-right. He was right in the middle, and he consumed media from both sides, and just some of the misinformation on one of those sides made him hesitant."

So he was going to wait for FDA approval, but by the time that Pfizer had been approved, it was already too late," she added.

Later in the interview, CNN "New Day" host John Berman circled back to the issue of who was spreading the misinformation that purportedly led to Lane's death.

"Katie, you said from one media source, in particular, he was getting misinformation — he was getting information that led him to be hesitant on vaccines. Who? Who was he listening to?" Berman asked, in reference to an answer she had given last week to a local news outlet.

She replied: "He watched some Tucker Carlson videos on YouTube, and some of those videos involved some misinformation about vaccines, and I believe that that played a role."

Evan insisted during the interview that his father was just waiting for the FDA to grant full approval to the vaccine. He claimed that if his father were alive now, he wouldn't have any issues with getting the vaccine or advising others to do the same.

The children even claimed that their father's final words to their stepmother were that he "wished that he was vaccinated."

Left-wing corporate media outlets are currently circulating the narrative that illegal Haitian migrants at the U.S. southern border are being beaten with whips by Border Patrol officers on horseback. These claims are unequivocally false, as not only are the “whips” in the viral images and video footage actually horse reins, but there is no evidence that the reins were actually used to strike illegal migrants.

The still images and videos quickly went viral on left-wing social media platforms such as Twitter, with far-left corporate media outlets such as VICE running headlines along the lines of “Border Patrol agents are whipping Haitian migrants at the US-Mexico border in Texas.”

The main problem with this false narrative is that it is being circulated by people who have little to no knowledge of what a whip actually is. The “whips” and “lariats” seen in the images and videos are clearly horse reigns, and bear no resemblance to bullwhips or other scourges.

A statement released by the Border Patrol thoroughly debunked the “Border officer are whipping illegal migrants” narrative, noting that “Agents use their reins for a lot of reasons. Primarily it’s used to steer the horse, but agents will also spin them sometimes to deter people from getting too close to the horse,” and “Agents also need to maintain control of their reins so they don’t lose control of the horse, which can also cause injuries to immigrants, the agents, and the horses.” The statement concluded, “We are not aware of anyone being struck with the reins.”

White House: Illegal Aliens Do Not Need Proof of Vaccination Because ‘Not Intending to Stay’

The White House conceded Monday they were not requiring border crossers to show proof of vaccination, even though the government requires proof of a vaccine or a negative coronavirus test for other travelers into the United States.

When reporters asked about the apparent double standard on vaccination requirements, White House press secretary Jen Psaki argued that illegal immigrants and migrants crossing the border were not intending to stay in the United States.

“They’re not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time,” she said, referring to migrants. “I don’t think it’s the same thing. It’s not the same thing.”

Nearly 15,000 immigrants, mostly from Haiti, have created a makeshift camp under the Del Rio International Bridge on the border of Texas and Mexico as they seek entry to the United States.

On September 10, Psaki admitted there was a double standard for migrants crossing into the United States and American citizens working for private businesses with over 100 employees under the Biden administration’s vaccine mandates.

“That is correct,” she said when a reporter pointed out the double standard.

Psaki repeated her prepared talking points about the coronavirus process for migrants crossing the border and “the intention” to quarantine individuals demonstrating symptoms of the virus.

About 30 percent of migrants held in detention facilities have refused vaccines, according to reports.

She said the United States continued using Title 42 authorities to expel some of the migrants from Haiti crossing the border into Texas.

“We want to prevent a scenario where large numbers of people are gathering, posing a threat to the community and also the migrants themselves,” she said.
