Not so very close, per the World1 model, we have until 2040 before SHTF. I find it ironically coincidental that they place the begining of the end five years before The Singularity (2045) so it hardly seems AI is going to be able to get us out of this mess we find ourselves in. However the World3 model takes technological advances into account which somewhat mitigates the downfall.
It is my opinion these models are what is driving global actions/reactions lately and they hate Trump for derailing their plan, which is ironically to save the Earth and Humanity from ourselves because in their mind…no one is coming to save us. Also them…they don't care how many people have to die as the current human population is not only expendable, but obviously incapable of handling things on their own…
That's my take on the current situation anyway…
