Cleveland Democrat Mayor’s Grandson Shot And Killed
The 24-year-old grandson of Cleveland’s Democrat mayor was shot “multiple times” and has passed away, according to local police in Ohio.
Frank Q. Jackson, the grandson of Democrat Mayor Frank G. Jackson, was shot dead near the Garden Valley Estates public housing complex.
After being dropped off, someone ran up to him and shot him multiple times, a source told Cleveland19.com.
“Mayor Jackson, police officers, and an agent from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms arrived at the scene late on Sunday, according to local media. Police have not released further details of the shooting or mentioned if any other victims were reported,” The Daily Mail reported.
“Frank Q. Jackson had a lengthy rap sheet and multiple run-ins with police in recent years that included gun and drug possession charges as well as assault charges. In 2017, he was charged with knowingly concealing a weapon,” The Daily Mail added.

In 2019, he pleaded guilty plea to misdemeanor assault after a fight with his girlfriend and was currently facing felony assault charges related to an incident in July where he allegedly dragged while trying to flee from police in his car.
He pleaded not guilty to those charges and was out of jail on $10,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court in November.
Frank Q. Jackson was also questioned as part of a murder investigation after a car registered to him was seen leaving a crime scene, but no charges were ever filed.
In a statement, the Cleveland City Council said: “We offer our deepest sympathies to Mayor Frank G. Jackson and his family for the death of his 24-year-old grandson Frank Q. Jackson last night. Cleveland Police are investigating, and we believe the person or persons responsible will be apprehended and brought to justice.”
In a separate statement, Council President Kevin Kelley added: “My deepest condolences go out to Mayor Jackson and the entire Jackson family. The sudden loss of a child or grandchild is tragic, and I ask the entire community to respect the Jackson family as they mourn their loss. They deserve to grieve in peace.”
