I've been a prepper for about 7 years. I can't imagine any SHTF scenario where silver or gold bartering is viable.
Too few people have it or fewer would be able to tell if it was real or fake. Would never work for SHTF imo.
Meanwhile cans of food and bullets and water apply to every scenario.
Yeah maybe. I don't have a much money so l don't have much to convert. But I can't see doing it.
Hopefully gold destroys the fed and a beautiful new and fair and safe monetary system is implemented.

Here's a question though, why do you commercials for companies selling gold? Why wouldn't they keep it during these unprecedented risky times?
They really want to sell hard silver/gold for some of my paper currency? I don't get it.
