Germany buying $ billions of gas from Russia doesn't mean Russia is an enemy, it means Germany has an energy dependency. Dependency is not a good condition when entering into negotiations. Don't think Trump's boys will be letting Germany skate because Germany currently has a 'problem'.
Would Germany have a vested interest in a pipeline from the Arabian Gulf (through Syria/Turkey) to the EU? Is that why Erdogan is playing the EU for fools?
Germany also wants to be the energy (nat gas) hubs that controls flow to other EU areas. (Nordstream II). Trump went to Poland for this reason, to offer the Poles an alternative. US nat gas.
Germany shutdown nuke power plants after Fukishima. Did Germany shelve all it's nuke tech and associated jobs?
Germany's energy dependency and it's cash flow because of it are the problem to be discussed.
Trump just told Stoltenberg which way the wind is going to blow. Enforcement of Iran sanctions is coming through NATO. EU better be on board.
