I try not to be corrupted by the creepy feeling this is all designed to get us to stand down. I realize the plan has to take place intelligently before anger prompts everyone into Plan Z. But damn.

In all honesty yes. God's plan could very well involve many of us being whisked out of here, in which I would expect a black hat victory on Earth immediately after. But if God keeps staying His hand, then he must have more in store for us, which I take to mean a white hat win.
