Harris hires Psaki’s brother-in-law as an advisor

Over 60 charged in crackdown on Balkan cartel behind cocaine pipeline to Europe
An unprecedented international law enforcement operation involving 8 countries has resulted in criminal reports being filed against 61 suspects belonging to a Balkan drug cartel flooding Europe with cocaine.

In the framework of intelligence activities carried out with their international counterparts, the Spanish investigators developed reliable intelligence that this cartel was preparing a major cocaine importation from South America into Europe in spring of this year.
Special surveillance measures were put in place as the criminals moved back and forth between Spain and South America to finalise the details of the cocaine importation, totalling over 1,25 tonnes.
The investigation gathered pace in March of this year when the leaders of this cartel travelled to Spain to prepare for the arrival of the cocaine shipment. Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, the race for testing new platforms designed to confer immunity against SARS-CoV-2, has been rampant and unprecedented, leading to emergency authorization of various vaccines. Despite progress on early multidrug therapy for COVID-19 patients, the current mandate is to immunize the world population as quickly as possible. The lack of thorough testing in animals prior to clinical trials, and authorization based on safety data generated during trials that lasted less than 3.5 months, raise questions regarding the safety of these vaccines. The recently identified role of SARS-CoV-2 glycoprotein Spike for inducing endothelial damage characteristic of COVID-19, even in absence of infection, is extremely relevant given that most of the authorized vaccines induce the production of Spike glycoprotein in the recipients. Given the high rate of occurrence of adverse effects, and the wide range of types of adverse effects that have been reported to date, as well as the potential for vaccine-driven disease enhancement, Th2-immunopathology, autoimmunity, and immune evasion, there is a need for a better understanding of the benefits and risks of mass vaccination, particularly in the groups that were excluded in the clinical trials. Despite calls for caution, the risks of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination have been minimized or ignored by health organizations and government authorities. We appeal to the need for a pluralistic dialogue in the context of health policies, emphasizing critical questions that require urgent answers if we wish to avoid a global erosion of public confidence in science and public health.
Introduction
Since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2020, over 150 million cases and 3 million deaths have been reported worldwide. Despite progress on early ambulatory, multidrug-therapy for high-risk patients, resulting in 85% reductions in COVID-19 hospitalization and death [1], the current paradigm for control is mass-vaccination. While we recognize the effort involved in development, production and emergency authorization of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, we are concerned that risks have been minimized or ignored by health organizations and government authorities, despite calls for caution [2-8].
Vaccines for other coronaviruses have never been approved for humans, and data generated in the development of coronavirus vaccines designed to elicit neutralizing antibodies show that they may worsen COVID-19 disease via antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) and Th2 immunopathology, regardless of the vaccine platform and delivery method [9-11]. Vaccine-driven disease enhancement in animals vaccinated against SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV is known to occur following viral challenge, and has been attributed to immune complexes and Fc-mediated viral capture by macrophages, which augment T-cell activation and inflammation [11-13].
In March 2020, vaccine immunologists and coronavirus experts assessed SARS-CoV-2 vaccine risks based on SARS-CoV-vaccine trials in animal models. The expert group concluded that ADE and immunopathology were a real concern, but stated that their risk was insufficient to delay clinical trials, although continued monitoring would be necessary [14]. While there is no clear evidence of the occurrence of ADE and vaccine-related immunopathology in volunteers immunized with SARS-CoV-2 vaccines [15], safety trials to date have not specifically addressed these serious adverse effects (SAE). Given that the follow-up of volunteers did not exceed 2-3.5 months after the second dose [16-19], it is unlikely such SAE would have been observed. Despite92 errors in reporting, it cannot be ignored that even accounting for the number of vaccines administered, according to the US Vaccine Adverse Effect Reporting System (VAERS), the number of deaths per million vaccine doses administered has increased more than 10-fold. We believe there is an urgent need for open scientific dialogue on vaccine safety in the context of large-scale immunization. In this paper, we describe some of the risks of mass vaccination in the context of phase 3 trial exclusion criteria and discuss the SAE reported in national and regional adverse effect registration systems. We highlight unanswered questions and draw attention to the need for a more cautious approach to mass vaccination.

On Monday, reports indicted that Hochul will sign an executive order allowing for the deployment the National Guard members as part of an effort to close the gap on possible healthcare staff shortages when the state’s vaccine mandate takes effect. Poets&Quants has learned that Harvard Business School (HBS) has moved its first-year and some second-year MBA students to remote learning after an outbreak of COVID.
"In recent days, we've seen a steady rise in breakthrough infections among our student population, despite high vaccination rates and frequent testing," Mark Cautela, head of communications for HBS, told Poets&Quants.
"Contact tracers which have worked with positive cases highlight that transmission is not occurring in classrooms or other academic settings on campus. Nor is it occurring among masked individuals."

Australian officials on Monday again reminded their subjects that the nation's "zero COVID" strategy has somehow given them the power to strip the people of their freedoms.
Government leaders in the state of New South Wales — where the bureaucracy just a month ago announced that it was giving vaccinated citizens a "reward" of one extra hour outside their homes for recreation time — announced during a Monday press briefing that unvaccinated folks "will lose their freedoms" in October, Sky News reported.
What did they say?
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Deputy Premier John Barilaro announced updated COVID protocols Monday morning in remarks to the press to give more details for their so-called "blueprint for freedom."
Berejiklian's announcement revealed "extra freedoms" residents can experience once the state hits an 80% vaccination rate — above and beyond the current 70% goalpost, News.com.au reported.
The state has been touting its 70% threshold goal and said Monday that it expected to hit that goal by Oct. 11. The updated "freedoms" for the 80% threshold will include freely traveling anywhere in NSW; allowing people to stand up and drink in pubs (aka "vertical drinking"); up to 10 visitors at a private residence; groups of up to 20 people allowed to gather outside; no limits on fully vaccinated attendance at weddings and funerals; and a number of other "extra freedoms" the government will deign to give the hoi polloi.
But anyone who is not vaccinated can expect to "lose their freedoms," the government announced.
The 70% roadmap that will kick in on Oct. 11 will apply to the whole state, Deputy Premier Barilaro said. Which means that restrictions for non-vaxxed will also kick in.
"The message to the unvaccinated is that you will not achieve any further freedom unless you get vaccinated," he stated.
And then he made it clear that not only would unvaccinated people not "achieve any further freedom," but also they will "lose" freedoms they currently enjoy.
"So there will be individuals in regional and rural New South Wales who choose not to be vaccinated who will lose their freedoms on the 11th of October," Barilaro declared. "So my message to everybody in regional and rural New South Wales is to continue to get vaccinated. We are seeing vaccination rates climb right across the state including in the regions."

NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance willing to lose job if assisted dying conscience vote denied
A senior NSW Liberal Minister says he is willing to resign from the frontbench if his party's MPs are not given a conscience vote on an upcoming bill to legalise voluntary assisted dying in the state.

Transport Minister Andrew Constance said he would support the bill and wanted the vote to happen this year.
"We can't leave this issue as it is — this is an issue of compassion, an issue of humanity," Mr Constance said.
He said he was willing to lose his job on the frontbench over it.
"The reality is that if we don't have a conscience vote, I'm going to have to cross the floor — so that has consequences."
The issue is a potential political grenade for the Premier Gladys Berejiklian with right faction MPs vehemently opposed to the idea.
The last time Ms Berejiklian oversaw a conscience vote on the issue of abortion in 2019, hard line conservative MPs threatened to mount a leadership bill against her.
Right-faction MPs opposed to voluntary assisted dying have told the ABC they were previously given assurances by the Premier that there would be no more conscience votes this term.
On Monday she would not rule a conscience vote on the issue.
"That's a matter for the partyroom to consider," Ms Berejiklian said.
"So I'll be consulting colleagues on that."
She had previously told reporters she was personally "uncomfortable" about voluntary assisted dying and would "prefer that issue wasn't debated, given everything else we're facing".
Mr Constance said it would make no sense for Liberal MPs to be denied a conscience vote, given they were allowed one when voluntary assisted dying was last debated, in 2017.
"Ultimately those who are calling for the party room not to have a conscience vote must be very concerned about the numbers on the floor of the parliament," he said.
In 2017 the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill debated was defeated in the Upper House by just one vote.

GOP Senators Introduce Bill To Block Biden’s 'Weaponization' Of IRS Bank Account Surveillance
President Joe Biden’s proposal for a radical expansion of IRS monitoring of Americans’ bank accounts would be stopped in its tracks under a proposal introduced by two Senate Republicans concerned about protecting privacy rights.
“What they’ve done is, they are weaponizing the IRS, they’re pushing many, many billions of dollars into that and they will be hiring tens of thousands of new agents,” Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.) told The Epoch Times late on Sept. 23.
“So this is all about looking at everybody’s transactions and then hoping that perhaps they find something that’s not getting reported so they can come after you and get that income,” Boozman said.
The Biden proposal would drop the dollar threshold for transactions at which federal tax agents would be allowed to examine an individual’s private bank account to just $600 from the present $10,000.
Biden also wants to double the IRS workforce by adding 87,000 new government agents under the president’s “The American Families Plan Tax Compliance Agenda.”
Biden and Democratic allies in Congress claim the actions are needed to close the “tax gap,” the difference between what current federal law requires to be collected by the government and how much actually goes into the Treasury.
Boozman said Biden’s unprecedented explosion of new federal spending is the major reason behind Biden’s push to double the size of the IRS and give it virtually unlimited power to monitor how much income Americans earn and where they spend it, Boozman said.
“They want this new authority to look at transactions of $600 or more rather than $10,000 or more because they have a $3.5 trillion, or some say up to a $5 trillion bill, depending on how you score it, so they desperately need pay-fors. This shows how desperate they are,” he said.
Boozman said the $10,000 threshold was approved decades ago to enable the IRS to assist federal law enforcement efforts against drug cartels, terrorist groups, and organized crime rings.
“Today, $600 is such a small amount of money. To put this in perspective, this law was passed several decades ago, and when they did this, $10,000, if you tied inflation to it, it would be $50,000 today,” Boozman said.
“What they’ve done is taking what perhaps was a good idea at the time and weaponizing it such that they can get into your bank account.”
The Biden proposal requires all financial institutions, including banks and savings & loans, to report to the IRS every time an individual or family has a transaction of at least $600, with a breakdown of how much of the transaction was in cash, whether any of it came from an account in a foreign country, and if it represented a transfer from another account.

Hinshaw noted that her team is working with education officials to determine if any adjustments need to be made to the approach.

The policy appears to be part of a new government initiative to help schools track whether an outbreak is under way on their campuses and consequently whether a shift to increased online learning is needed.
According to CBC, Alberta's return-to-school plan, released in August, ended contact tracing in schools and no longer required schools to notify each other of known COVID-19 cases. But that decision angered some members of the community who argued the government is not doing enough to protect educational institutions.
So in response, Alberta Health Services now instructs schools to alert them if 10% or more of their student and staff population are absent with a respiratory illness, regardless of whether or not it is confirmed to be COVID-19. In the event an outbreak is declared, a medical officer may then recommend additional safety measures to the school.
But CBC reported that the policy is not going over well: "Parents and staff now say that they're receiving vague notices about outbreaks that don't specify whether or not cases of COVID-19 are present in the school."
"This is going to create misunderstandings on the part of parents, that they may underestimate the risk at school if they receive this letter and return," one parent told the news outlet.
