Gabby Petito was in 2013 ‘Irreplaceable’ music video for Sandy Hook
When she was 14 years old, Gabby Petito starred in a music video titled “Irreplaceable” to help spread awareness about violence against children after the Sandy Hook massacre.
She and her two younger brothers appeared in the 2013 video, whose song was produced and sung by fellow Long Island native Deb Henson, who told the Sun that its inspiration was the school shooting that left 26 people dead, including 20 kids, in Newtown, Conn.
In the video, Petito — whose death has been ruled a homicide after her body was found near a Wyoming campsite – is seen holding a sign that reads: “I’m irreplaceable.”
“The lyrics are almost eerie now. It’s ironic and tragic that she’s in this video and that this happened to her,” Henson told the news outlet.
“This song isn’t just about violence against kids. It’s also about domestic violence and violence in general. It’s just God awful really what happened to Gabby,” added Henson, who recalled the “magical weekend” when the video was shot.
“It was two days of filming on a Saturday and Sunday, and I just remember it was really hard for everybody because of the subject matter — and Gabby was such a bright light, even at 14,” she told News 12 Long Island.

Pima County jail inmate dies; Was hospitalized with COVID-19
An inmate at the Pima County jail in Tucson has died after being hospitalized for COVID-19, according to authorities.
County sheriff’s officials said the inmate was taken to a hospital on Sept. 6 after testing positive for the virus.
Deputies were told Saturday afternoon that the man he had been pronounced dead.
Sheriff’s officials said the inmate’s name is being withheld until his relatives are notified.
They said the man was booked into jail on July 25 after being extradited from Maine to Pima County for two probation-violation warrants on narcotics charges.
The drama and deadlines driving action on Capitol Hill right now can be disorienting. Democrats are trying to pass more than $4 trillion in infrastructure and social programs at the center of President Joe Biden’s agenda — and at the same time avert a government shutdown and prevent a federal default that could send financial markets crashing.
“The next few days will be a time of intensity,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wrote in a letter to colleagues over the weekend. That might be an understatement.
Adding to the challenges for Democrats are their thin advantages in both chambers, the end of the fiscal year and intraparty disagreements over the size and scope of Biden’s signature social spending and climate legislation. Republican leaders have encouraged their members to reject almost all of it, leaving Democrats to go it alone.
Biden has been meeting with fellow Democrats as they navigate the political obstacle course.
“We’ve got three things to do: the debt ceiling, the continuing resolution and the two pieces of legislation,” Biden said Monday. “If we do that, the country’s going to be in great shape.”
$3.5 TRILLION IN SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS
Democrats are trying to pass the separate $3.5 trillion measure on their own by using an elaborate process called budget reconciliation. Using it allows the bill to bypass an otherwise certain GOP filibuster. But Democrats can’t move forward until they reach agreement among themselves on what the legislation should contain.
The bill as drafted includes an assortment of long-time Democratic priorities, including an expansion of existing health, education and child care programs for Americans young and old. Republicans are lockstep opposed to the plan, which would be paid for by increasing the corporate tax rate, from 21% to 26.5% on businesses earning more than $5 million a year, and by raising the top rate on individuals from 37% to 39.6% for those earning more than $400,000 a year, or $450,000 for couples.
Besides the disagreements in the House, moderate Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona are making a stand of their own, saying they can’t support a package that totals $3.5 trillion, even if Democrats succeed in covering the cost with tax increases and other revenue. Manchin has previously proposed spending $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion.
Asked Sunday on ABC if she agrees the final number on the so-called reconciliation bill will be “somewhat smaller” than $3.5 trillion, Pelosi responded: “That seems self-evident.”
