MESA COUNTY, Colo. – “Mesa County Democrats” set up a booth at “Market on Main” in downtown Grand Junction last night.
Normally used as a voting registration platform, the booth instead highlighted Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters amid news of a criminal investigation surrounding her office, regarding voting security.
When asked about the possibility of removing Peters from her position, the co-chair of “Mesa County Democrats” says we can, and we should,
“Yes we can, the county commissioner’s cannot take her out of office she’s an elected official, the state can’t take her out unless she’s charged with a criminal act, and we’re on that route,” says Scott Beillfus.
Beillfus predicts Peters will be replaced as Mesa County Clerk and Recorder within weeks,
“A clerk and recorder giving secret information to an outside source who’s tied to Q-Anon, is a criminal offence,” he continues.
KREX5 has reached out to Peters several times to get her perspective on the situation, but so far, she hasn’t responded.
