They DID ban the Bible. They banned it 55until the year 1455. For well over a thousand years the church was the only person/group which had the bible. They had 1200 years or so to preach their lies about it to the people. God put it into their heads that a man named Gutenberg (Good Town) would invent the printing press in 1450 and then make the first mass printing of the Bible in 1455.
I had a pastor in my own living room (my mother sent him to save me) on a Saturday afternoon scream at me: that book belongs to the church, we never should have allowed you to read it. True story.
