The bible has most likely been rewritten and censored, remember the Dark Ages happened for 500 years? Also in revelations it mentions that it will take someone with great knowledge and wisdom to understand the number 666 (or possibly 616) and the beast system. But to take that further in general it requires some discernment to understand the Bible to its full capacity, most people are too stupid to understand what the Bible is really trying to teach. The ones that don't understand, even in older age, I notice just quote verses in the Bible all day and don't actually break anything down into anything practical. Christianity turned me off for so long because no one could explain it to me until I started to read it myself.
So long story short it's more beneficial to keep the bible around because most people take from it to just die on the cross even though Jesus did that for us already and showed us so no one has to go through that again. Now we fight! What do you see in every church? A defeated crucified Jesus and they play sad music and preach sad words, after service you just feel defeated and depressed instead of energized. The only demorgraphic that got church right were the blacks where they're singing cheerful songs and dancing and in general joyful.
