Chris Straub was head of Public Records Unit at the Pima County Attorney's Office.

Same guy fought against ballot scans in 2012. Actually they replaced Chris Straub with a higher prices attorney.

Arizona Election Fraud: Attorney Bill Risner’s Argument Reaffirms the Need for Election Integrity

Additional points made by Pima County seemed to involve technicalities where none really existed. Ronna Fickbohm makes the argument that the plaintiff doesn’t “say there’s an ongoing problem of election fraud in the future.” The judge may not appreciate this argument given the fact that removing Pima County’s ability to cheat was the basic, implicit underpinning of the case for prospective relief.

Finally, Pima County attempted to rewrite recent history by suggesting that previous statements recorded in their last records trial are taken out of context and never meant to indicate that their software system was a security issue.

Here is Pima County Attorney Chris Straub (replaced by the pricier private counsel, Ronna Fickbohm) clearly making the argument on behalf of the plaintiff. You can decide whether it’s taken out of context:

Election Fraud? True or False: Flush it Down the Memory Hole

August 28, 2012 by Robert Guard

OCCUPIED TUCSON CITIZEN

Let me give another example of a strawman argument by Fickbohm. She claims that quotes by Pima County attorney Chris Straub from the 2008 hearing were taken out of context4 by Risner to imply that it was a confession by Pima County “that the procedures that have been approved by the Secretary of State [and the Arizona legislature] constitute an insecure system.” 5 But that’s not Risner’s argument at all. The procedures approved by the Secretary of State do not include the actual programming of the Diebold system, and indeed Straub’s comments6 about the insecurity of the system only have to do with the actual programming itself, not the procedures taken by the Election Division. Risner’s argument is precisely that there is no way to secure the voter data from a control fraud run from inside the Pima County Election Division without auditing (and not merely counting) the paper ballots themselves as long as we use the same Diebold system.
