I'd have to brush up as it's been a while but I was under the impression that Diana and her sister were both groomed for the position…because they were royal descendants (nobility in modern times as well) but BRITISH royalty not German….aka Windsor.
I could be totally off base, but I could swear on that.
Also…I think Diana would bitchslap them both. I hope. (Not calling her a Saint, but that woman went through HELL, literally I think)
