Subpoenais an order issued by the court. The subpoena usually requires you to appear at a certain place, date, and time to testify as a witness about a particular case. In a criminal case, you can be subpoenaed only to testify in court. In a civil case, you may be subpoenaed for out-of-court testimony as well.
Durham is investigatingCRIMINAL
It's nice that Durham is being very thorough and he didn't want Sussmann walking away scott free from lying to federal officials about working for the Hillary Clinton campaign while he was handing off that fake Trump/Alfa Bank hoax to them. But the real meat of Spygate has always been the fake Steele Dossier and how it's fake allegations ended up in a spy warrant on a US citizen.
It's going to be quite dasting when the researcher gets exposed.
And while looking into how that happened, DOJ IG Michael E. Horowitz uncovered massive corruption inside the DOJ and the FBI. And then Durham was tapped to investigate and see what criminal charges could be brought against any of the government officials who applied for and received surveillance warrants by engaging in deliberate acts of fraud and malfeasance. :)
But after Durham had initiated his criminal probe of all of this spy warrant fraud at the DOJ/FBI, Horowitz had to sit on a lot of the evidence he had accumulated until Durham finished. He could not publicly release it until he got the go ahead from the Special Counsel.
