I saw a whole line of ants one time coming out of a tree in my front yard and crossing the driveway. Each ant was carrying a black ball. I poked one of the ants and it dropped the black ball. To my surprise the black ball was another ant. A different kind of ant, and it immediately ran away from the ant that had been carrying it. The ant that had been carrying it left the line formation and chased the escaping ant but couldn't catch it.
I went on-line to find out what kinds of ants they were. But I couldn't figure it out.
Both kinds of ants were about the same size and about medium sized. Sort of looked like this.
Ants use a lot of weird chemicals and I wondered if the captor ants were using some kind of a paralytic chemical on the captive ants.

The descendants of the slaves who are living in the US probably have a much better life than the descendants of the slave traders who are still living in Africa.
Not only that, many African Americans are Christians, while descendants of the slave traders may continue to practice pagan religions.

This is the closest that I could come to identifying the ants.
The captors kidnapped other ants to take back to their nest to care for their young, but in retaliation the captive ants actually evolved to kill and/or neglect the young instead.
It didn't benefit them directly but it benefited their species.
