Katie Couric comes clean about Matt Lauer, Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew

In her new memoir, Couric addresses her conflicted relationship with Lauer, her longtime ‘Today’ co-host, and the bizarre dinner Epstein hosted in honor of Prince Andrew

In Katie Couric’s new memoir, the former news anchor addresses her associations with three problematic men she got to know during her long TV career, and who have since been accused of various degrees of despicable, sexually predatory behavior.

These men are Matt Lauer, Couric’s former “Today” show co-host and one-time good friend; Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier and accused sex trafficker; and Prince Andrew, Epstein’s royal friend and alleged participant in his debauched lifestyle.

Many of the allegations against these three men have come to light in the wake of the #MeToo movement in 2017.

However, as Couric admits in her book, “Going There,” she had long heard “whispers” about Lauer cheating on his wife and “taking advantage” of young female colleagues when they worked together as “Today” co-hosts from 1997 to 2006.

It also seems that Couric should have been aware of Epstein’s alleged predatory behavior when she agreed to attend a now-infamous 2010 dinner at his Manhattan townhouse in honor of Prince Andrew. By that time, Epstein was a registered sex offender who had been investigated in the 2000s for sex trafficking and abusing multiple underage girls at his Florida estate.

If Couric had declined Epstein’s invitation, she would have missed out on meeting a British prince and being in the company of other New York media stars who were guests at the party. The guest list notably included Woody Allen and Charlie Rose, two other famous men who were disgraced and lost prestigious work opportunities as the #MeToo movement re-litigated sexual misconduct claims against them.

The suspect, whose name was not released because of his age, was arrested around 8 p.m. Wednesday and charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD.

The teen allegedly stabbed his fellow classmate at Harry S. Truman High School in Co-Op City after the victim previously warned the attacker to stay away from his girlfriend, according to school sources.

The victim was stabbed in the face or neck and taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he expected to survive, cops said.

COVID-19’s latest bizarre side effect: ‘Restless anal syndrome’

The latest COVID-19 symptom is about butts — but it’s no joke.

A newly published medical report by doctors in Japan has revealed a mysterious condition associated with the disease called “restless anal syndrome.” Its name is likened to the more commonly discussed restless legs syndrome (RLS) and describes exactly one 77-year-old patient’s afflictions.

The man had only recently checked out of the Tokyo Medical University Hospital following a 21-day stay while ill with COVID-19. But despite having fully recovered from the virus, he returned to report uncomfortable new symptoms.

He told physicians that he began suffering “deep anal discomfort” in the area between his anus and genitals, prompting him with the “essential urge to move” his bowels — which gave him no relief, according to their paper, available to read via “BMC Infectious Diseases.”
