Fully Vaccinated Justice Brett Kavanaugh Tests Positive For Covid-19

Justice Brett Kavanaugh tested positive for Covid-19 Thursday evening, the Supreme Court said.

56-year-old Kavanaugh has been fully vaccinated against Covid since January and has no symptoms.

Kavanaugh will not be on the bench on Monday, the start of the new term and the first in-person session with all Supreme Court Justices since the pandemic began.

On Thursday evening, Justice Kavanaugh was informed that he had tested positive for Covid-19. He has no symptoms and has been fully vaccinated since January. Per current Court testing protocols, all of the Justices were tested Monday morning prior to conference, and all tested negative, including Justice Kavanaugh. Justice Kavanaugh’s wife and daughters are also fully vaccinated, and they tested negative on Thursday. As a precaution, Justice and Mrs. Kavanaugh will not attend Justice Barrett’s investiture this morning.

Wisconsin Special Counsel Michael Gableman Issues Subpoenas in His 2020 Election Probe – Will Any Justice Be Served?

Wisconsin Special Counsel Michael Gableman has subpoenaed Wisconsin election officials as part of his investigation into the 2020 Election irregularities.

The Wisconsin Special Counsel overseeing an election review in the state has subpoenaed Wisconsin election officials.

Special Counsel Michael Gableman has served subpoenas to the administrator of the Wisconsin Election Commission, the executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission, and four city clerks as part of his probe into the 2020 election, “The Dan O’Donnell Show” has learned exclusively.

On Friday morning, subpoenas were served to Wisconsin Election Commission administrator Meagan Wolfe, Milwaukee Election Commission director Claire Woodall-Vogg, the city clerks of Madison, Green Bay, Racine, and Kenosha as well as a former executive assistant to Racine Mayor Cory Mason, sources said.

The subpoenas seek all records related to grants from the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), a group funded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg that is accused of taking over the administration of the presidential election in Green Bay and having undue influence on election administration in Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, and Madison.

The five cities, dubbed “The Wisconsin Five,” submitted a joint bid for CTCL grant money to help administer the presidential election. Emails from former Green Bay city clerk Kris Teske revealed earlier this year that a CTCL partner organization, the National Vote at Home Institute, had unlawfully taken over the administration of the city’s election. In Milwaukee, Woodall-Vogg was providing National Vote at Home Wisconsin lead Michael Spitzer-Rubenstein with daily email updates on early voting, and Spitzer-Rubenstein even requested access to the City of Milwaukee’s voter database, which Woodall-Vogg declined.

We know there were numerous issues in Wisconsin in the 2020 Election. Over 140,000 ballots all for Joe Biden were dropped at around 4am in the Milwaukee area. The Election head in that area laughed about this in emails at that time.

Georgia DETAINS controversial ex-President Saakashvili, who fled homeland in 2013 & was sentenced in absentia on criminal charges

Former Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili has been detained upon his return home, the country’s prime minister has said. The controversial figure now faces a total of nine years behind bars, having been sentenced in absentia.

Saakashvili was arrested by law enforcement and incarcerated, Irakly Garibalishvili told the media, on Friday evening. “I want to inform our society that the third president of Georgia, the wanted Mikhail Saakashvili, has been detained,” the prime minister explained.

Based in Ukraine in recent years, Saakashvili unexpectedly announced plans to fly to the capital Tblisi earlier this week, publishing his flight manifesto online. He promised his supporters he’d lead a fight to “save” Georgia. It was not the first time Saakashvili pledged to return, but this time, he kept his word.

“I have bought a ticket for the evening of October 2 to be in Tbilisi with you and defend your will and take part in saving Georgia,” he stated. On Friday morning, he posted a video claiming to be in the coastal city of Batumi, some 300 kilometers to the West of the capital.

His return coincides with local elections, in which his UNM party is challenging the ruling Georgian Dream. Saakashvili stepped down as the UNM’s chairman, from exile, two years ago. He was replaced by his own chosen candidate, Grigol Vashadze

Saakashvili fled his homeland back in 2013, shortly after his political rival Giorgi Margvelashvili trounced his favored successor Davit Bakradze in a presidential election. The colourful politician has been targeted by multiple criminal cases since then, which he claims are politically motivated.

In January 2018, he was handed a three-year sentence for abusing power in pardoning former Interior Ministry officials convicted in a 2006 murder case. Later that year, Saakashvili received a separate six-year jail term for abusing his authority by trying to cover up evidence related to the 2005 beating of an opposition politician.

The ex-president has consistently maintained his innocence, however his rule was authoritarian in nature and the likes of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights publicly condemned him after images emerged showing prisoners being sodomized and beaten in a Tblisi prison, under his watch.

Earlier on Friday, Saakashvili released two video addresses, the first claiming he was in Batumi. The claim was dismissed by Georgia’s interior ministry, which said the ex-president had not crossed the country’s borders. So far, no official information on where exactly Saakashvili was apprehended has been released.

After his departure from Tblisi, in 2013, Saakashvili first moved to New York. After spending around two years in the US, hiding from Georgia’s prosecutors, he relocated to Ukraine to become the governor of Odessa region on the invitation of then-president Petro Poroshenko. The latter granted the fugitive politician Ukrainian citizenship, which led to Saakashvili losing his Georgian nationality.

California Becomes First State To Require Students Be Vaccinated To Attend School

Fresh of his victory in the gubernatorial runoff, California Gov. Gavin Newsom just announced that California's schools will soon require all eligible public and private school students in 7th grade and higher in the Golden State to be vaccinated against COVID, a first-in-the-nation policy that Newsom says will impact millions of students by fall 2022, or possibly sooner.

The mandate would impact students in grades 7 through 12 and will be imposed during the next semester after (and assuming) the FDA gives full approval for vaccines for children ages 12 and older.

"This is just another vaccine," Newsom said during a news conference after he announced the "state-wide" mandate, claiming the COVID jab would join "a well-established list that currently includes 10 vaccines and well-established rules and regulations that have been advanced by the Legislature for decades."

Afghan refugee given 30 months in jail, only a third mandatory, after sexual abuse of 7-year-old in scandal that shocked Austria

A court in Austria has sentenced a teenage refugee from Afghanistan to 30 months in prison, of which he is only obliged to serve 10 months, after he sexually abused a girl, age seven. The victim was awarded €500 in compensation.

On Wednesday a court in Ried, Upper Austria reached a verdict concerning the shocking case of an Afghan teen who had lured a seven-year-old neighbor to a basement before sexually abusing her.

The judge gave the teenager a 30-month prison sentence for serious sexual abuse, although he will only need to spend a full 10 months behind bars. The teen was prescribed therapy and has been given a probation officer. The court ruled that his residence must also be moved to keep him at least 10 kilometers away from his victim.A court spokeswoman confirmed the verdict in remarks made to ‘Oö. Volksblatt’ on Thursday.

According to Austrian news agencies, the teenager had lured the girl to the basement of an apartment building on June 12. When he got home, the father of the girl was told by another daughter that the seven-year-old was in the basement with the teen.

The father reportedly found him as he pulled up his trousers in the basement. A tussle ensued in which the father was knocked unconscious. He was then taken to hospital.

The girl later confided in her father about what had happened in the basement.

The court also awarded the young girl €500 in compensation for pain and suffering. She may receive more money through civil law.

Many Austrian papers have suggested the ruling is soft. Almost half of all 8,486 inmates behind bars in Austria are foreign citizens despite foreigners only accounting for 17% of the population.

With blackouts looming, German government holds disaster preparation day, promotes ‘cooking without electricity’

High demand and the transition to green power has left much of Europe at risk of blackouts. In Germany, state authorities are teaching the public to heat their homes with candles and get used to “cooking without electricity.”

State authorities in North-Rhine Westphalia will hold their first ‘Disaster Protection Day’ on Saturday, with instructors in the city of Bonn teaching citizens how to get by “in the event of a long power failure.” An advert by the federal Civil Protection Office gives a hint of what’s in store, and features an elderly woman wearing several layers of clothing, heating her apartment with candles burning under an upturned flower pot and sealing her windows with reflective foil.

The Civil Protection Office on Friday unveiled an ad campaign focusing on all aspects of crisis preparation, and will soon release a targeted strategy addressing “stockpiling, extreme weather, power failure and emergency baggage.” Meanwhile, officials will present a new book entitled ‘Cooking Without Electricity’ at the event in Bonn on Saturday.

Based on these official communications, blackouts are coming to Germany soon. While the idea of the world’s sixth-most developed country being unable to power itself may seem ludicrous, the problem is Europe-wide, and is the result of a number of factors.

Germany relies heavily on natural gas for heat and power, and supplies were depleted following an unusually cold winter and spring. Globally, gas markets are tight, with increased demand in Asia and an upsurge in air-conditioner use during a hot summer in Europe driving prices to record highs.

Compounding the problem, wind-power generation fell this year, literally due to a lack of wind in Germany. Coal burning has increased to make up this shortfall, yet the cost of European Union ‘carbon credits’ on this fuel is passed on to consumers, with the end result being a spike in energy costs for ordinary Germans, who already pay the highest price per kilowatt hour in the world.

USPS says it will deal with projected $160 billion loss by … slowing down its delivery service

The United States Postal Service projects that it will have a $160 billion loss over the coming decade, so it needs to boost revenue and cut costs.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy thinks he has the answer: offer slower service.

That's right, DeJoy's blueprint for making the USPS solvent includes cutting costs by slowing mail delivery for millions of Americans coupled with hoped-for increased revenues from postage rate hikes, CBS News reported.

However, critics have been quick to point out that this will likely discourage people from using the Post Office.

What's happening?

Starting Friday, DeJoy said, the postal service will officially begin slowing down mail delivery. According to CBS News, the USPS' three-day delivery for first-class mail, which includes letters, bills, and tax documents, will drop to five days. That means customers can expect their bills, letters, and other mail to take up to a business week to get delivered. The agency did say, though that it was keeping its two-day delivery for first-class mail traveling within a local area.

A USPS spokeswoman said in an email to CBS News, "The postal service has shown steady improvements for all first-class mail, marketing and periodical mail categories over the last seven months. We have worked tirelessly to overcome challenges from recent storms and continue to recruit thousands of employees for the upcoming holiday peak season."

But critics are not buying the positive spin and say the plan to slow the mail will only hurt the USPS.

Postal service expert and Lexington Institute senior fellow Paul Steidler told CBS News that the new plan is "disastrous" and "means mail delivery will be slower than in the 1970s."

He also pointed out that it will be the elderly, disabled, and rural people who will be most impacted by the new, slower delivery standards.

"It's the least fortunate who will be hurt hardest by this," he said. "Everything in American society is getting faster, it seems, except for the mail delivery — which is now going to get slower."

The intentional slowdown of bills, checks, and important documents, combined with postage hikes that were implemented in August, will probably make Americans less likely to use the USPS, experts said.

It's possible that people who are paying their bills by mail and not prepared for the change could incur late fees, for instance, if their checks don't arrive on time. Others may face longer delivery times for important documents such as tax forms or passports. The change could further undermine customers' faith in the U.S. Postal Service, which took a hit in 2020 when delivery delays snarled everything from prescription medication to election ballots, experts say.

Even the federal Postal Regulatory Commission, which oversees the USPS, doubted whether the plan to slow down delivery would save the agency money, CBS News said.

But the PRC refused earlier this year to reject the USPS' plan after 21 state attorneys general asked them to, calling the plan a "misguided effort" that would negatively impact election mail and essential documents and "disproportionately impact elderly and rural residents, as well as individuals with disabilities."

New e-mails from Mr. Anthony Fauci – obtained exclusively by The National Pulse – reveal the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director congratulated epidemiologist Dr. Ian Lipkin, a key Wuhan Institute of Virology collaborator, on receiving personal awards from Chinese Communist Party dictator Xi Jinping.

Lipkin – a Columbia University Professor – received the China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award from regime chief Xi in 2016 before going on to claim another award from China’s Central Government, Central Military Commission, and State Council.

The 2016 award is the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) top science honor for foreign scientists, and, as quoted in a Columbia University press release, Lipkin remarked that “it solidifies my relationship with dear friends and colleagues in the Chinese Academy of Science, Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Health” – all of which are wholly-owned and operated Chinese Communist Party entities.

In 2020 he commented, “It is a great honor to receive this medal… I will cherish it as a reminder of my dear friends and colleagues in China and all we have accomplished together for the health of the Chinese people and all people around the world.”

The latter award came just days before Communist China told the world of the human-to-human transmission of the then “novel coronavirus” which came to be known as COVID-19.

As the virus spread Dr. Lipkin became one of the most frequent media talking heads on the subject. Lauded by the New York Times in 2010, Lipkin’s work in covering for his Chinese Communist friends became apparent just 6 days after the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak a “pandemic.”

Without much evidence at all, Lipkin and four others produced a paper on “The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2,” wherein they speculated that “[i]t is improbable that SARS-CoV-2 emerged through laboratory manipulation of a related SARS-CoV-like coronavirus.”

A few months later Lipkin even thanked Fauci for his dismissal of the lab-leak theory. Today, almost 18 months later, that view is no longer credible.

Twitter Bans MAGA Candidate Jarome Bell After Newsweek Demands Censorship

Lawmakers Want to Blacklist Chinese Genomics Company That Could Boost Bioweapons Research

Republican lawmakers are opening a new front in the fight against Chinese military companies hoovering up American data.

In a letter to top Biden-administration officials, Senator Tom Cotton and Representative Mike Gallagher called for BGI Group, a major Chinese genomics conglomerate, to be added to the U.S. government’s export blacklist and its Chinese military company investment ban list. Their comments about the company’s practice of collecting data from U.S. citizens echo a number of previous warnings issued by national-security officials.

“BGI has used its dominant position to further the CCP’s strategic goals by acquiring sensitive health data from the rest of the world. BGI and at least 14 other Chinese companies perform genomic sequencing for U.S. healthcare patients. As mandated by Chinese law, these companies have almost certainly shared this data with the Chinese government,” they wrote to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

If the three cabinet officials agree to act on this recommendation, U.S. individuals and business will be prohibited from conducting transactions with BGI and investing in the company.

In February, the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) issued a stark warning to Americans that the People’s Republic of China is collecting the personal health-care data of Americans.

The company has made inroads elsewhere, such as at Amazon, which used BGI’s at-home COVID test on its employees. And for months, BGI had worked to get governments across the world, including at the state and local levels in the United States, to use its COVID-19 testing kits, prompting alarm among national-security and intelligence officials. The report noted that although Chinese companies attempted to set up COVID-19 testing labs in the United States, which would have granted them DNA samples from Americans, they failed to do so.

But the NCSC warned that that failure to establish its own testing site in the U.S. is of little comfort because the Chinese government had sought U.S. health-care data sets through other means with greater success for years, including through strategic investments in U.S. genomic-sequencing firms, partnerships with hospitals and universities, and cyberattacks.

On that last point, former NCSC director Bill Evanina told CBS’s 60 Minutes that “probably five or six health care companies the last five years” have been “penetrated, exfiltrated, hacked by China.”

Researchers Find Locked iPhones With Visa Cards Connected to Apple Pay Can Be Hacked

The complexity of the attack means that the average person shouldn't freak out.

British computer scientists have discovered a way to remotely hijack contactless Visa payments on a locked iPhone. Proper delivery of the exploit could allow a savvy hacker to make hefty financial transactions via the locked device without ever touching it or even being nearby.

The exploit was discovered by researchers at the University of Birmingham and the University of Surrey and takes advantage of “Express Transit,” an Apple Pay feature for commuters, the BBC reports. “Express,” which lets users make quick, contactless Visa payments at ticket barriers and other travel kiosks, essentially allows you to stick your locked phone out of the car window, pay, and go.

The attack, which exploits this useful application, is admittedly pretty complex and a little bit hard to follow but, in theory, you can imagine it being used in some sort of high-stakes, cyber-heist type scenario—potentially one targeting a wealthy individual.

It works something like this: A small piece of “commercially available” radio equipment is placed near the phone, thus tricking the device into believing it is facing a ticket barrier (researchers don’t explicitly say what the equipment is—presumably because they don’t want people to try this at home). Then, an application developed by the researchers is run on an Android phone and used to reroute signals from the iPhone to a real contactless payment terminal—presumably one at a safe distance and controlled by the criminals. From there, the phone’s communication with the payment terminal can be altered, thus tricking it into believing that transactions have been authorized.

Terry McAuliffe Campaign Took $350K From US-Based Company Owned by British National

Donation could run afoul of federal law that prohibits taking money from foreign nationals

Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe's gubernatorial campaign in July raked in $350,000 from a mysterious, New Jersey-based telecom company owned by a Sri Lankan-British national, a donation that could run afoul of federal laws that prohibit candidates from taking money from foreign nationals.

LycaTel, a discount calling card provider, boasts a complicated web of offshore businesses and has been the subject of tax-fraud and money-laundering allegations overseas. The company is owned by Sri Lankan-born British national Allirajah Subaskaran, who holds 99 percent of the company's shares through his London-based company, WWW Holding Company Ltd., according to U.K. corporate records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. In a Federal Communications Commission filing in August, Subaskaran describes himself as "a natural person and Citizen of the United Kingdom" and lists his U.S. business office as the same address and phone number as LycaTel.

The company does not appear to have contributed to previous Virginia campaigns or federal races. LycaTel in July retained D.C.-based Thompson International Group to lobby on "Telecom" issues, according to disclosure records. Before that, the Thompson International Group had registered as a foreign agent that represented Subaskaran as part of a "business expansion within the U.S.A.," according to records filed with the Department of Justice.

LycaTel's contribution is one of the largest received by McAuliffe's gubernatorial campaign this election cycle. Ethics experts say the donation raises foreign-influence red flags. It's also reigniting questions about McAuliffe's previous foreign-donor controversies. The FBI in 2016 reportedly opened an investigation into a $120,000 donation McAuliffe received from a company owned by Wang Wenliang, a Chinese citizen and U.S. green card holder who served as a delegate to China's parliament.

LycaTel did not respond to emailed questions. When reached by phone on Thursday, LycaTel's general counsel said the company had no comment and was "waiting to hear back from management as to what they want to disclose and what they don't." A lawyer for Subaskaran did not respond to a request for comment. McAuliffe's campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Federal law prohibits campaigns from accepting money from foreign nationals and entities, directly or indirectly, in local, state, and federal elections. While U.S.-based subsidiaries of foreign corporations can contribute, the donation can't be made under the direction of the company's foreign leadership—which legal experts said can be a murky legal distinction.

"This is effectively a really easy way to launder foreign money into the U.S. political process and to avoid the FEC prohibition on foreign nationals making contributions in U.S. elections," said Ben Freeman, director of the Foreign Influence Transparency Initiative at the Center for International Policy.

Double standard? Democrats nix COVID tests for illegal migrants, mandate vaccines for Border Patrol

Iowa Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks' amendment was rejected by 217 Democrats voting against it.

House Democrats blocked an effort to require COVID-19 testing and vaccinations for migrants stopped at the border before they are released into U.S. communities.

The move comes as President Biden requires federal employees, including members of the U.S. military and Border Patrol, to receive the COVID vaccine. The U.S. government will reportedly fund COVID testing for federal workers who are not yet vaccinated.

The amendment to require the testing of migrants was introduced by Iowa Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks as part of the continuing resolution that Congress was debating to keep the government funded through early December. The legislation ultimately passed the House without the amendment after House Democrats rejected it.

"My commonsense legislation would require the Department of Homeland Security to test all migrants illegally crossing our border who they plan to release into our communities, and they should be tested for COVID-19," Miller-Meeks said.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said recently that the 15,000 Haitian migrants who arrived at at the border in Del Rio, Texas were not tested by DHS for COVID-19.

The Biden Administration has been processing and releasing thousands of migrants who arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border. Rather than provide all of the released migrants with a court date to appear for their asylum claim, many are reportedly being asked to voluntarily report to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Republicans in Congress have argued that such as system is unsustainable and serves as a magnet for more illegal immigration into the U.S.

"Think about what they're asking them to do," New York Republican Rep. John Katko, ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, said during an interview with Just the News. "Don't call us until this date and on this date, after you've settled into our country — where you have much more than you had in your own country you came from — then at that point call us so we can start deportation proceedings against you. I mean, come on, man, you know, they're not going to do that."

Miller-Meeks' amendment was rejected by 217 Democrats voting against it.
