Mixed bag, nurses are. Bygone family members that were nurses had a level of caring that could not be matched. Anon has encountered bad nurses as well. An example:
Anon cut hand at work, had to go to the ER. After checking in, nurse looked at wound, then brought anon to a sink to wash the wound. All was good until nurse started applying the medieval technique of 'debriding', which is to vigorously scrub a wound to get all of the dirt out, so it has less chance to get infected. Anon knew his wound and hands were mostly clean and did not want the extra damage of the debriding to cause wound to take longer to heal, so anon withdrew hand. Nurse argued, but anon stood ground. Nurse said doctor would agree with her. Doctor did, however, anon stood more ground and told the doctor hiw to take care of the wound is up to anon. They bandaged the wound and anon was on his way. Never got infected and took less time to heal than if they were to have applied their 'science'.
Anon gets feelings of a bug messing things up today. No vision, just a deep gut feel.

Re: nurse knowledge or the lack thereof
Anon's sure it's because they are inundated with patients that they aren't learning much. This particular anon had to teach quite a few of them on the discoveries of the interstitium and the tubarial gland. They never knew.
