(1/4) On 9/18/21 at 1:10 AM, Ridgecrest Substation deputies responded to Inyokern Airport for an assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies discovered the suspect had assaulted a victim with a sword and thrown a rock through a hangar window, hitting an additional victim in the head.
(2/4) The Ridgecrest Police Department also responded to the scene and located the suspect on Inyokern Road. The suspect, identified as Gino Rivera (35), refused to follow commands and brandished the sword at deputies. Non-lethal rounds were deployed but were ineffective.
(3/4) Rivera ran from deputies and deputies pursued. Rivera continued to disobey commands and a taser was deployed. Rivera dropped the sword and deputies used control holds to take Rivera into custody.
The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
(4/4) Rivera was booked into the Central Receiving Facility for attempted homicide, assault w/ a deadly weapon, brandishing a weapon, brandishing a weapon w/ the intent to resist or prevent an arrest, vandalism, and obstruct/delay a peace officer in the discharge of their duties.

Georgy Romanov, a descendant of the House of Romanovs, and his wife, Italian citizen Rebecca Bettarini, wed in St. Petersburg’s Saint Isaac’s Cathedral Friday.
According to the Russian Imperial House, this is the first wedding of a House representative to take place in Russia in over 100 years. Romanov and Bettarini — who converted to Orthodox Christianity and was christened Viktoria Romanovna in July 2020 — officially registered their marriage in a Moscow registry office in late September.
The ceremony was attended by several hundred guests from several countries, including Duke Michael of Wuerttemberg, Duke of Anjour Louis Alphonse de Bourbon, the last king of Bulgaria Simeon Borisov von Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Prince Joachim Louis Napoleon Murat, Prince Philipp and Princess Isabelle of Lichtenstein, and others.
