It may be too early for this statement to be believable, but I think Milley and Trump are putting on a 'feud' show.

I'm looking at all the statements Milley has been making, re: Afghanistan, Phone Call with China, etc…

Milley confirmed that Biden went against his, Milley's, recommendation to keep troops in Afghanistan, and in the process indirectly confirmed Biden LIED when he said 'nobody told me'.

Milley confirmed Pelosi LIED when she said she got assurance from Milley that Milley would 'stop Trump from using nuclear weapons'.

Milley did NOT say that the phone call with China was to secretly warn them in advance of any attack ordered by Trump, but rather ASSURED China that Trump had no intention of using the military to attack China, whereby if for whatever reason conflicts arose, that Milley would 'probably' TALK, TALK! with General Li, which is a good thing because conflicts can end when there is discussion.

The whole narrative 'Milley is a traitor because he said he would call China to warn them of an attack in advance' has no proof by publication of the call transcript.

Oh, and about the whole 'woke' bullshit, CRT….I think Milley HAD to sacrifice himself in order to 'stay in the game'. If he didn't, if he criticized CRT, he'd be portrayed as a neonazi by the fake news.

I think Trump called Milley 'incompetent' because he needs to distance himself from Milley, in order to safeguard the fact Milley is 'serving at the pleasure of President Trump'.
