Declassified Report Definitively Debunks 'Havana Syndrome' Attacks That US Officials Blamed On Russia

 

Noises linked to mysterious injuries among US diplomats in Cuba were most likely caused by crickets — not microwave weapons — according to a declassified scientific review commissioned by the US State Department and obtained by BuzzFeed News.

 

The State Department report was written by the JASON advisory group, an elite scientific board that has reviewed US national security concerns since the Cold War. It was completed in November of 2018, two years after dozens of US diplomats in Cuba and their families reported hearing buzzing noises and then experiencing puzzling neurological injuries, including pain, vertigo, and difficulty concentrating.

C/2014 UN271 (Bernardinelli-Bernstein), or simply 2014 UN271 or the Bernardinelli–Bernstein comet, is a potentially large Oort cloud comet discovered by astronomers Pedro Bernardinelli and Gary Bernstein in archival images from the Dark Energy Survey.

 

When first imaged in October 2014, the object was 29 AU (4.3 billion km) from the Sun, almost as far as Neptune's orbit, and the greatest distance that a comet has been discovered.

 

In 2021, it is approaching the Sun at a distance between 19 AU (2.8 billion km) and 21 AU (3.1 billion km) and will reach its perihelion of 10.9 AU (just outside of Saturn's orbit) in January 2031.[4] The current 3-sigma uncertainty in the comet's distance from the Sun is ±60000 km.

 

The mega comet is not coming very close to us. It’ll make its closest approach in 2031, when it’ll sail just outside of the orbit of our sun’s 6th planet, Saturn. Saturn’s orbit is some nine and a half times farther from the sun than Earth’s orbit. So there’s no danger to us here.
