Man shot as he tries to rob a Church's Chicken in Port Arthur

A man armed with a gun tried to rob a Church's Chicken on Jefferson shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, and someone at the fast food restaurant shot him, according to Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso.

Chief Duriso says he's not sure at this point who shot the robbery suspect at the Church's in the 1800 block of Jefferson.

The man who was shot made his way to Normandy Apartments, according to Chief Duriso.

Paramedics transported the suspect to the hospital.
