Last week before he was arrested and sent to the brig, Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller went on a rampage against President Trump and his family on Facebook.

Scheller had this to say about President Trump and his family.

President Trump. I was told by everyone to kiss the ring because of your following and power. I refuse. While I respect your foreign policy positions, I hate how you divided the country. I don’t need or want your help. You do not have the ability to pull US together. You may even win the next election. But your generation’s time is running out. Tell your son to stop tweeting about me. Your whole family knows nothing about US or our sacrifices. I could never work with you. I’d rather sit in jail and be released with a dishonorable than make compromises in my beliefs.

Facebook, WhatsApp & Instagram ALL down in major worldwide outage

Facebook and its subsidiaries Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are down, according to tracker DownDetector, frustrating social media users worldwide. Facebook says it is working to solve the issue.

Users began reporting problems accessing servers to the major social media sites on Monday morning and afternoon, according to DownDetector, which logs user issues with popular websites.

Frantic Facebookers flocked to Twitter to verify that they weren’t the only ones whose universe had been turned upside down.

The Facebook app wouldn’t load at all for many mobile users, while some desktop users got a “Sorry, something went wrong” message. Instagram users saw a 5xx Server Error message, according to The Verge.

The company has not given any indications as to when its services will be operational again.

WhatsApp eventually tweeted an acknowledgment of the issue, promising it was “working to get things back to normal” and would “send an update here as soon as possible.” Soon after, the parent company issued a statement along similar lines, apologizing for any “inconvenience.”

Casey DeSantis, the wife of Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

“I am saddened to report that Florida’s esteemed First Lady and my beloved wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer,” the first term Republican governor said in a statement shared first with Fox News on Monday.

“As the mother of three young children, Casey is the centerpiece of our family and has made an impact on the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as First Lady. As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up,” the governor emphasized.

Casey DeSantis, 41-years old, is a former producer and Emmy award winning television show host for the PGA tour. She was also a three-time equestrian national champion, as well as a runner-up NCAA division one champion.

The Evergrande saga continues. On Monday trading for Evergrande stock was halted in Hong Kong.

We’ve reported on the Hong Kong behemoth Evergrande that has been going under for a month. Today, despite numerous attempts to revive the company, the end appears near.

On September 9, 2021, we first reported on the pending Evergrande collapse and what it will mean to the China economy.

This company is a massive entity with reportedly the largest amount of debt of any company in the world. The problem is the company cannot pay its debt.

NBC is reporting this morning:

Shares in troubled real estate developer China Evergrande Group and its property management unit Evergrande Property Services were suspended from trading in Hong Kong on Monday as investors awaited the next steps in the saga of its debt crisis.

Cailian, a Chinese online news service affiliated with the state-run newspaper Securities Times, said another developer, Hopson Development Holdings, was planning to acquire a majority share in Evergrande Property Services Group.

Hopson suspended trading of its shares in Hong Kong on Monday. The suspension was “pending the release of announcement(s) in relation to a major transaction of the company under which the company agreed to acquire the shares of a company . . . listed on the stock exchange,” it said in a filing.

The Wall Street Journal warns, however:

Evergrande’s potential deal to sell its profitable property management unit may buy it a little breathing space for now. How much oxygen will ultimately be left for investors remains highly uncertain.

Pandora papers just another tool for the West to interfere in developing countries, says Chinese state media boss

The editor of the Global Times has suggested that Western intelligence agencies have been involved in the dissemination of the so-called Pandora papers, claiming it may help their governments intervene in developing nations.

On Monday, Hu Xijin, the editor-in-chief of the Global Times, noted his skepticism around the release of the so-called Pandora papers – a cache of millions of documents detailing the offshore deals and assets of the super-rich and more than 30 world leaders.

“My instinct tells me behind the release of these papers, there's involvement of the intelligence agencies of the US and the West,” Hu wrote in a tweet, suggesting that the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) might not be the only party involved in retrieving and disseminating the files.

“They are creating new tools for their political intervention in developing countries,” he added, seemingly a reference to the leaders of non-Western nations, such as Azerbaijan’s Aliyev family, the King of Jordan, Abdullah II, and several African presidents who were among those indicted in the release.

Hu also shared the BBC’s post concerning the Pandora papers. The outspoken Global Times editor has been very critical of the British public broadcaster and has frequently accused it of misreporting issues relating to China.

The ICIJ’s papers have caused a major stir around the world with more than 30 current and former world leaders exposed within the 11.9 million files for utilizing offshore structures and trusts in tax havens to make them richer.

Other leaders indicted in the reports include Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis, Gabon President Ali Bongo, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Congo’s leader Denis Sassou-Nguesso.

The leaked files reveal that Tony and Cherie Blair saved £312,000 in property taxes through money-saving schemes. Associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin are also listed in the papers.

New Zealand Finally Abandons Controversial "COVID Zero" Policy, Promises To Roll Back Lockdowns

Seven weeks into a lockdown that has so far failed to quelch the COVID resurgence (an extremely mild outbreak, by international standards), while causing untold economic strain throughout Auckland, New Zealand's economic center and most populous city.

So, as the crowds protesting against the lockdowns in the Auckland's streets have intensified, threatening to boil over into the heightened level of unrest presently roiling its neighbor, Australia, it looks like New Zealand's progressive government, led by PM Jacinda Ardern, has finally thrown in the towel, and by doing so, abandoned its "COVIDZero", just as Australia has started to do.

According to the AP, New Zealand's government has finally acknowledged on Monday that it can longer completely eradicate the coronavirus - a realization that the US, Europe and most other nations (outside China) have already accepted.

In keeping with this new perspective, Ardern announced a "cautious" plan to ease lockdown restrictions in Auckland, despite an outbreak there that continues to simmer, and - more importantly - abandon the guiding COVID policy that has been in place for 18 months.

"We’re transitioning from our current strategy into a new way of doing things," Ms. Ardern told reporters. "With Delta, the return to zero is incredibly difficult, and our restrictions alone are not enough to achieve that quickly. In fact, for this outbreak, it’s clear that long periods of heavy restrictions has not got us to zero cases."

"What we have called a long tail,” she added, "feels more like a tentacle that has been incredibly hard to shake."

As the AP reminds us, New Zealand was once heralded as one of the world's great COVID successes (to this day, it has only recorded 27 deaths). But after declaring that COVID was effectively eradicated last year, the delta wave that emerged this spring managed to force its way back in. At this point, some critics say Ardern and the local leadership in Auckland may have overreacted, imposing the lockdown after only a single case had been identified (and before its strain had been genetically analyzed).

Like Australia, closed borders has been another major part of New Zealand's "COVID Zero" approach. If Ardern means what she says, these restrictions should soon be allowed to loosen.

With NZ done, the last major COVID holdout is…China. But we somehow suspect their "war-like" strategy of dealing with outbreaks isn't going to change any time soon.

Domino Effect: New South Wales Sinks Into Political Disarray and Chaos After Six Officials Including its Premier and Deputy Premier Exit

A total of six officials have resigned in the span of three days following tyrannical New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s difficult resignation on Friday. Berjiklian announced her ‘difficult decision’ to resign after a corruption watchdog announced it was looking into her ‘alleged misconduct.’ It was the corruption charges that finally brought the tyrannical leader to step down.

Following NSW Premier Berejiklian’s exit, her Deputy Premier John Barilaro also announced his resignation and will leave parliament. Barilaro said the constant pressure from media scrutiny and his defamation case against YouTuber Jordan Shanks is a ‘big reason’ for his departure from politics.

YouTube star Jordan Shanks responded to Barilaro’s departure and attacks. Barilaro accused the YouTube star of “vile racism” after Shanks called him ‘a conman to the core, powered by spaghetti.’ “FriendlyJordies” accused Barilaro of using his press conference to smear him as racist.

New South Wales is in a state of political disarray and chaos, facing multiple costly and distracting by-elections and an uncertain path towards post-Covid freedom.

In the space of three days, NSW has lost its Premier and Deputy Premier, a senior Cabinet Minister, three veteran Coalition members of parliament and will likely need to find a new Treasurer in coming weeks.

The shock resignation on Friday of Premier Gladys Berejiklian, both from the state’s top job and parliament representing the seat of Willoughby, has sparked a domino effect of departures.

Following her today is Deputy Premier John Barilaro, who announced he’s stepping aside from the role as well as quitting as Nationals leader and exiting politics, leaving vacant his regional seat of Monaro.

And on Sunday, Transport Minister Andrew Constance confirmed he would leave the NSW Cabinet and quite state politics for a tilt at a federal seat.

Those three departures will each require a by-election.

Speculation is mounting that more departures from the Coalition ranks could come within days.

Now, just a week away from the end of Sydney’s lockdown and the beginning of a new era in the coronavirus pandemic – one the rest of the country is closely watching – the focus is firmly on the government’s internal woes instead.

Apparently, the judicial system still works in Australia.

Taiwan Informs Australia It's 'Preparing For War' As China Sends Record 52 PLA Jets Toward Island

Taiwan's Foreign Minister Joseph Wu in a hugely provocative interview with Australian broadcasting ABC's China tonight program warned that Taiwan is preparing for war with China and urged its larger Indo-Pacific neighbor to help.

Wu said his nation will repel any coming attack, "The defense of Taiwan is in our own hands, and we are absolutely committed to that," he told ABC's Stan Grant. The interview is set for broadcast on Monday evening (local time). "If China is going to launch a war against Taiwan we will fight to the end, and that is our commitment." He made an appeal to Australia's leaders for greater support to Taiwan during the growing crisis and showdown.

"I'm sure that if China is going to launch an attack against Taiwan, I think they are going to suffer tremendously as well," Wu threatened. It comes after Friday and Saturday Chinese PLA jet incursions into Taiwan's air defense zone. Friday's breaches saw 38 total jets fly toward Taiwan while Saturday saw 39.

Though Australia doesn't officially recognize the self-ruled island, Wu appealed to leaders in Canberra as follows: "We would like to engage in security or intelligence exchanges with other like-minded partners, Australia included, so Taiwan is better prepared to deal with the war situation."

"And so far, our relations with Australia [are] very good and that is what we appreciate," Wu added.

China has already given a resounding 'response' to these latest provocative statements out of Taiwan, on Monday sending a record-smashing 52 PLA jets to breach southwest defense zone.
