This is hype. While it is true that GPS is used as a timing standard in many industries, losing that clock source is not that big of a deal in most instances.
Packetized data transfer does not rely on a timing source (this is why ping tests get varying results), and most equipment reverts to a secondary source should the GPS clock signal be lost.
On a voice call, which requires more precise timing than most data, the only effect from unsynchronized clocks is an audible click once in a while, maybe.
