CIA Urges Officers Not to Underestimate Foreign Spy Agencies as Informant Networks Collapse - Report

The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) admitted in a rare agency-wide cable that it’s suffered a severe problem of losing informants in recent years, urging its stations around the globe to pay more attention to the counterintelligence efforts of other nations.

The top secret cable, described to the New York Times by “people familiar with the matter,” warned that a large number of CIA informants had either been killed, arrested or otherwise compromised over the last several years.

According to the sources, the cable accused CIA officers of placing “mission over security” by being too quick to trust new sources and moving too quickly to recruit them, while at the same time underestimating the spycraft of rival intelligence agencies. The Times noted Langley’s cable gave a specific number of informants lost - a rare moment of transparency intended to highlight the seriousness of the situation.

Biometric scans, facial recognition technology, artificial intelligence and improved hacking tools were all mentioned as new challenges for the CIA to overcome, which had made it easier to track the movements of CIA officers and to uncover their sources’ identities.

Experts have long called attention to the CIA’s technology shortcomings. John Reidy, a former government contractor, called attention to what he described as a “catastrophic failure” in a 2006 report. “Upwards of 70% of our operations had been compromised,” he told McClatchy in 2015; still, the CIA fired him rather than address the problem.

According to Yahoo News, that system came crashing down between 2009 and 2013, after Iranian counterintelligence experts cracked the CIA’s extremely simple internet communications system and figured out how to identify the websites the agency used to lure potential informants into contact with CIA officers. Using little more than a simple Google search, Tehran was able to destroy an entire CIA information network in the country. Once the information was shared with China, at least two dozen CIA operatives were killed.

Anti-Vax Mandate Protests Continue Across France as Election Season Heats Up.

On Saturday, anti-vaccine mandate proponents took to the streets of France for the 12th weekend in a row. Around 50,000 protesters manifested their opposition to the “vax pass” instituted by the French government before the summer. In Paris alone, around 10,000 joined the march.

The French vaccine mandate requires citizens to show a QR code demonstrating proof of COVID-19 vaccination or of a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours in order to access restaurants and entertainment venues, take public transportation, and board planes and trains. Public hospitals have also began putting unvaccinated staff on leave.

The month of October also marked a turning point in the government’s rollout of the mandate. The PCR tests – which offered an alternative means for citizens who wish to remain unvaccinated to receive a QR code – will no longer be free starting October 15th.

While teenagers were initially spared from the vaccine pass requirement, on October 1st, the French government began requiring children aged 12+ to display proof of vaccination to take part in public activities.

Finally, this past week, the government spokesperson, Gabriel Attal, suggested that the vaccine pass which was only authorized by the National Assembly until November 15th, will most likely be extended until at least the summer of 2022.

While the number of protestors who showed up this past weekend was lower than the last, the remaining opponents of the mandate are fervent and determined.

In Paris, groups were joined by contingents of “Gilets Jaunes” protestors, who have been protesting the policy decisions of Macron’s government since 2018. While these demonstrators seek a political solution to their protests, there are few French political figures who have come out in support of the anti-vaccine mandate base. This is due in part to the fact that the government has successfully amalgamated vaccine mandate defiance with fringe anti-vax ideology.

Amongst the leading opposition candidates for the 2022 Presidential election, only Marine Le Pen has voiced her clear opposition to the “vax pass”, while being sure to point out that she, herself, is vaccinated. Eric Zemmour, the French conservative essayist and journalist who is considering a run for President and surging in the polls, has said he is generally opposed to the vaccine mandate but mostly because he believes it’s an insidious way of requiring mandatory vaccinations for all.

Zemmour feels it would be more honest and transparent for the government to impose a general COVID-19 vaccination requirement although he hasn’t said if he would support such a measure.

Polls conducted at the end of the summer suggested that only 37 percent of the French people supported anti-vaccine mandate protestors, significantly lower than the amount of support the “Gilets Jaunes” movements of 2018 and 2019 received.

Supreme Court nixes challenge to Trump's border wall funding, tells lower court to 'vacate its judgments' and reconsider

The Supreme Court on Monday ordered a lower court to "vacate its judgments" against a Trump administration plan to use billions of dollars in diverted Department of Defense funds to construct a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The order involves the use of $3.6 billion in diverted Pentagon funds for border wall construction initially prescribed by former President Donald Trump under a national emergency declaration after efforts stalled to secure congressional funding for the project. The move prompted fury and legal challenges from environmental groups, including the Sierra Club, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Those environmental groups went on to win in lower courts. But when the Trump administration appealed the matter to the Supreme Court, the top court ordered that construction could continue while the case made its way through the legal system.

Then, President Joe Biden took office and circumstances dramatically changed. Biden ended the policy of diverting military funds to border wall construction by executive order, instead transferring the funds toward other military projects.

Responding to the changes, the Supreme Court decided Monday to remand previous rulings to lower courts and ordered them to relitigate the issue.

"The judgment is vacated, and the case is remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit with instructions to direct the district court to vacate its judgments," the Supreme Court wrote. "The district court should consider what further proceedings are necessary and appropriate in light of the changed circumstances in this case."

Law360 noted that "the justices' one-paragraph ruling did not provide a detailed rationale for vacating the Ninth Circuit ruling that had barred the funding redirection, beyond pointing to the 'changed circumstances' in the case."

While the court order appears on the surface to be a major blow to the Biden administration, the legal blog noted the administration "had sought precisely this outcome." Relitigation could allow the federal government to push back against earlier rulings that limited executive power.

The Hill reported that the decision also "tees up another stage of the battle for border wall challengers who argue Biden must remediate the damage from the construction of the wall."

In a statement to the news outlet, Dror Ladin, senior staff attorney at the ACLU's National Security Project, said: "Today's order comes after the government conceded that the Trump wall was wasteful and destructive, and returns the case to the district court so that Sierra Club and the Southern Border Communities Coalition can seek relief for the damage the wall has already inflicted."

Proponents of Trump's plan for border wall funding likely hope that relitigation will result in a better outcome for the wall's continued construction.

Far Left Facebook Whistleblower Frances Haugen Working with Trump Impeachment Lawyers

Frances Haugen, the former Facebook employee who testified before the Senate commerce committee today, has a history of left-wing activism and is working with the same lawyer who represented the alleged Ukraine whistleblower who sparked the second bogus Trump impeachment.

Haugen testified before the Senate Commerce Committee today after getting the celebrity treatment from the establishment media, including a full-length interview on 60 Minutes.

Haugen, unlike other Facebook whistleblowers who have been ignored by the media, has called for more censorship of the platform, not less — and, according to her remarks at the hearing today, wants the government to step in to make it happen.

Not only that, but she believes that she, and people like her, should be in charge of regulating Facebook.

“There needs to be a regulatory home where someone like me could do a tour of duty after working at a place like [Facebook], and have a place to work on things like regulation,” said Haugen.

According to reports, Haugen is being advised by Whistleblower Aid, the same group of leftist lawyers who advised the “whistleblower” who sparked the bogus Ukraine impeachment of President Trump — which helped direct attention away from allegations of corruption against the Biden family over their business affairs in that country.

In particular, it directed attention away from the allegation that Joe Biden, while Vice President, pressed the President of Ukraine to drop an investigation into Burisma, the energy company that was paying his son Hunter. Leaked emails reveal officials at Burisma told Hunter that his “ultimate purpose” as an agent of the company was to thwart investigations.

Other reports have highlighted Haugen’s track record of leftist agitation and political activity, which includes pressuring Google on gender diversity, the creation of a tool that allows users to filter searches by skin tone at Pinterest, and frequent donations to Democrats, including the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee.

It was, of course, Democrat senators who were responsible for inviting Haugen before the committee today.

Report: Hunter Biden Peddles Paintings for $500K to Eric Garcetti and Moby in Los Angeles ‘Art’ Exhibit

The first Hunter Biden “art” exhibition was held on Friday in Los Angeles to sell Hunter’s paintings for $500,000 to nearly 200 anonymous buyers, Mother Jones reported Tuesday.

According to an attendee, hors d’oeuvres and drinks were consumed while the violin softly played and “art aficionados gazed at works that appeared mainly to be reproductions.” Displaying reproductions of Hunter’s “art” is likely less expensive than shipping the art to the exhibit.

The event hosted by art dealer Georges Bergès to promote watercolors painted by Hunter, who is a recovering cocaine addict and business partner with a Chinese-linked entity, featured an elite guest list that included Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, artist Shepard Fairey (maker of the Barack Obama’s “Hope” poster), and musician and animal rights activist Moby.

With such an exclusive list of socialites, there was a “security presence greater than usual at an art event” to keep a barrier between the elites and average Americans, the report reveals.

The elitist reception also reportedly featured a handful of people who wore Chinese coronavirus masks, though vaccination “proof was required for entry—Garcetti kept his on the entire time he was present,” the attendee’s report of the scene told Mother Jones.

Hunter’s Los Angeles “art” exhibit is one of two that are reportedly scheduled. The second event will apparently occur in New York City at an unknown time, much like the Los Angeles show. The dates of the shows have not been divulged due to the sensitive nature of the president’s son personally showcasing his art to prospective in-person buyers at the art events.

Breitbart News senior contributor and Profiles in Corruption author Peter Schweizer said the entire business venture is utterly “absurd.”

“The only way to address these issues is with greater transparency — not less,” he told Breitbart News. “Their proposed solution is greater secrecy, not transparency. And they are essentially saying, ‘Trust Us.’ Joe and Hunter Biden’s track record on such matters gives us no reason to trust them.”

Yet Hunter has defended his new “art” career from critics and watchdog alike. “Fuck em… Look man,” Hunter Biden explained on the Nota Bene Podcast, “I never said my art was going to cost what it was going to cost, or how much it would be priced at. I would be amazed, you know, if my art was sold, for you know, for, umm, for ten dollars.”

“I’m [the] most famous artist in MAGA world, at least,” Hunter facetiously said before suggesting President Joe Biden believes “everything” Hunter does “should be in National Gallery” of Art.
