Pelosi’s Laptop Not Stolen On Jan 6, Missing Device Just Used For PowerPoints

A correction from the Associated Press pokes a hole in the official January 6 narrative

A correction in a story run by the Associated Press seems to reveal reveals that infamous laptop stolen from the U.S. Capitol on January 6, long rumored to belong to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was in fact a staff laptop only used for presentations.

The correction came as part of an Associated Press story regarding a New York mother and son “charged with theft in aiding the disappearance of a laptop belonging to the staff of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.” The Associated Press erroneously describes the January 6 protests as an insurrection despite no protesters being charged with that crime.

The Associated Press originally reported that the laptop was Pelosi’s personal property. Soon after, the article was corrected to note that the laptop in fact belonged to a member of Pelosi’s staff. It is unclear if it was that staff member’s personal property, but it seems likely it was a laptop owned by Pelosi’s office, as the Associated Press notes that it “was used only for presentations.” (READ MORE: Wray Told Congress FBI Had Not Infiltrated Proud Boys, NYT Reports They Had Two Informants On Jan 6)

“This story has been updated to correct that the laptop did not belong to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi,” noted the news agency, “but was a staff laptop stolen from a conference room that was used only for presentations.” The FBI agents who arrested the mother and son, according to the Associated Press, “said they were looking for Nancy Pelosi’s laptop.”

Previously, led by a apparently false tip, the FBI raided the home of Paul and Marilyn Hueper, an Alaska couple who attended President Donald Trump’s rally in Washington, D.C. on January 6, but maintain they did not take place in the protest at the U.S. Capitol. Despite the FBI breaking down the family’s door in what they maintain was a no knock raid, they now admit the family was not responsible for taking the infamous Pelosi laptop, as National File reported.

It is now clear that the infamous Pelosi laptop that provoked this raid was, in fact, a staff laptop used for presentations that likely held no sensitive information.

Kalashnikov Finalizes Testing Of Chukavin Sniper Rifle, Dragunov’s Replacement

In Russia, the state tests of the Chukavin sniper rifle, which will replace the Dragunov sniper rifle in the troops, have been completed, the results are being documented, the Kalashnikov group of companies said.

“The state tests of the Chukavin sniper rifle, which will replace the Dragunov sniper rifle in the troops, have been completed with a positive result. At present, the results of the tests are being documented, after which a decision is expected to adopt a new rifle complex into service,” Kalashnikov said.

Earlier, the company noted that the Chukavin sniper rifle (codename “Reaper”) is part of a new generation of rifles. It should ensure the elimination of single targets with the first shot at a distance of up to a kilometer.

For the first time the rifle was presented at the “Army-2017” exhibition.

The semi-automatic rifle complex is designed for two cartridges – a domestic rifle cartridge 7.62 x 54R millimeters and a NATO cartridge 7.62 x 51.

The mass of the gun without cartridges is 4.6 kilograms, the length, depending on the version, is up to 115 centimeters, the magazine capacity is 10 rounds.

The Dragunov, currently the main sniper rifle in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, was put into service back in 1963. The rifle is self-loading and is powered by cartridges 7.62 x 54R. It is easy to learn and operate and has high reliability, but it no longer meets modern requirements in terms of the range of destruction of targets with one shot.

The Russian Armed Forces have been actively updating their small arms in recent years. So, modern AK-12 complexes are being supplied to replace Kalashnikov assault rifles. The pilots will be armed with PPK-20 submachine guns; next year, serial deliveries of the Udav pistol will begin to replace the Makarov pistol.

Additionally, the RPL-20 light machine gun is also being tested.

In addition, Kalashnikov began developing a “smart” assault rifle that will use artificial intelligence to assist the user in target acquisition, aiming and shooting.

Almost 200,000 Covid-19 testing kits recalled, due to ‘manufacturing issue’ that delivered FALSE positives

Ellume, an Australian company that supplied over 3.5 million FDA-approved Covid-19 testing kits to the US, has now recalled nearly 200,000 of them due to an unspecified manufacturing issue that resulted in false positives.

The Food and Drug Administration issued a notice on Tuesday alerting the public of “the potential for false positive results” with certain lots of Ellume’s Covid-19 Home Test, a rapid antigen kit used to detect the coronavirus using nasal swabs and a smartphone app.

“Negative results do not appear to be affected by the manufacturing issue,” the FDA said, adding it is “working closely” with Ellume to assess “corrective steps” going forward.

People who used an Elume kit and received a positive result were instructed to contact their healthcare provider for a follow-up. Everyone who owns a kit is urged to check the Ellume-provided list of problematic lots, sent out between April and August this year, and request a replacement after submitting receipts.

Ellume CEO Dr. Sean Parsons said the company noticed the false positive result from specific product lots “in recent weeks” and isolated the cause. However, the company declined to elaborate what was causing the problem, citing trade secrets.

“The increase in false positives was the result of a supply chain issue with one of the test components. Because of the proprietary information involved in the manufacturing process, we cannot offer more specifics,” an Ellume spokesperson said in a statement.

At least four of the lots listed on Ellume’s recall page were sent to the US Department of Defense. The Pentagon awarded Ellume a $238 million contract in February, to increase the production of its tests in the US.

Meanwhile, the FDA on Monday issued an authorization to Flowflex, another at-home antigen test for Covid-19, made by the California-based ACON Laboratories.

Poland Central Bank To Buy 100 Tons Of Gold In 2022

In a time when institutions are increasingly shifting away from fiat currency and looking toward cryptos, it is worth recalling that at least when it comes to central banks, there is no digital gold. There is just gold.

To be sure, in a time of unprecedented economic and social turmoil, central bankers’ appetite for gold continues to grow, providing a bright spot for the traditional haven as investor interest ebbs. According to the World Gold Council, global reserves expanded 333.2 tons in the first half of 2021, 39% higher than the five-year average for the period. Strong purchases by Thailand, Hungary and Brazil stood out, with WGC analyst Louise Street predicting that If central banks continue to buy at the levels seen recently, it will provide a supportive element for the market.

Democrats and Media Do Not Want to Weaken Facebook, Just Commandeer its Power to Censor

"Whistleblower" Frances Haugen is a vital media and political asset because she advances their quest for greater control over online political discourse.

Much is revealed by who is bestowed hero status by the corporate media. This week's anointed avatar of stunning courage is Frances Haugen, a former Facebook product manager being widely hailed as a "whistleblower” for providing internal corporate documents to the Wall Street Journal relating to the various harms which Facebook and its other platforms (Instagram and WhatsApp) are allegedly causing.

The social media giant hurts America and the world, this narrative maintains, by permitting misinformation to spread (presumably more so than cable outlets and mainstream newspapers do virtually every week); fostering body image neurosis in young girls through Instagram (presumably more so than fashion magazines, Hollywood and the music industry do with their glorification of young and perfectly-sculpted bodies); promoting polarizing political content in order to keep the citizenry enraged, balkanized and resentful and therefore more eager to stay engaged (presumably in contrast to corporate media outlets, which would never do such a thing); and, worst of all, by failing to sufficiently censor political content that contradicts liberal orthodoxies and diverges from decreed liberal Truth. On Tuesday, Haugen's star turn took her to Washington, where she spent the day testifying before the Senate about Facebook's dangerous refusal to censor even more content and ban even more users than they already do.

There is no doubt, at least to me, that Facebook and Google are both grave menaces. Through consolidation, mergers and purchases of any potential competitors, their power far exceeds what is compatible with a healthy democracy. A bipartisan consensus has emerged on the House Antitrust Committee that these two corporate giants — along with Amazon and Apple — are all classic monopolies in violation of long-standing but rarely enforced antitrust laws. Their control over multiple huge platforms that they purchased enables them to punish and even destroy competitors, as we saw when Apple, Google and Amazon united to remove Parler from the internet forty-eight hours after leading Democrats demanded that action, right as Parler became the most-downloaded app in the country, or as Google suppresses Rumble videos in its dominant search feature as punishment for competing with Google's YouTube platform. Facebook and Twitter both suppressed reporting on the authentic documents about Joe Biden's business activities reported by The New York Post just weeks before the 2020 election. These social media giants also united to effectively remove the sitting elected President of the United States from the internet, prompting grave warnings from leaders across the democratic world about how anti-democratic their consolidated censorship power has become.
