Not everything is “stolen valor” that has been popularized in recent years. Is the person in question trying to financially profit, or take advantage in some way? If they are just a tedious annoyance even in full on costume talking shit… that’s something else.
And even if you’re dealing with a real con, the courts have shown themselves to be limpdicks on the subject (anon speculates because the courts are worse frauds themselves). Public exposure is the best after careful investigation and rock solid proof on both the lie and what they did with it. Be careful NOT to hurt someone already hurting from actual prior service.
Talked about a few weeks ago, can’t remember this guys name. The LAW is there to deal with them, but the courts a slow/reluctant/resistant to touching this stuff. Again, because anon thinks the courts know it will open a giant can of worms of fraudulent people everywhere, especially up in gov.
Don Shipley has been great to learn from, especially his vids talking about his own mistakes. But on balance, the issue is important and worth trying to deal with… the smart ones are a particular bad kinda bad people.
This anon thinks what you’re are talking about is way up there on important irl works. Please be careful. Not so much any physical risk, but the personal nature ‘stakes’ between you and the subject are serious.
