Why should anyone feel obligated to do what a criminal says? I can understand the pressure of being coerced or forced, but that doesn’t make the criminal somehow ‘legitimate’.

In all of human history, solstice has never NOT arrived. Anon wonders how many kids from Public School never hear the word solstice or equinox explained by a ‘teacher’?
At the time i was way too stupid to get what was going on, but my father ‘hooked’ me up to help a recent widow in the neighborhood get some chores done around her house. She seemed much older than me at the time, but she was also much younger than my dad. In hindsight i think he was hoping to live a bit vicariously. She paid me too much for cleaning the basement and garage and carry laundry up to the bedroom and then gave me money to buy us fancy lunches and dinners, and drive her around in her car…
Oh to be 15 again.
My dad was funny that way.

My father may have been sick, but having little to anything to do with what happened there. The widow was a fine lady, and painfully lonely. No matter what my father may have imagined MIGHT happen, the setup was perfectly innocent (nothing untoward happened in any way whatsoever), i got paid very well for very good work, and she was very happy to have help, company and companionship for the time we spent.
She also spoke with me as a young man with adult language, and in no uncertain terms helped me develop a healthy respect for good and fine women, platonically.
Now, if I want back in time to that place again, with what’s in my mind now… things most likely would have turned out very different. But i was who i was appropriately at 15.
The planet is not doomed, but such shit-for-government sure is.
