There is a New Testament and Psalms Bible that fits the form factor it is the one on the right.
There are many different New Testament Psalms Bibles with all kinds of covers if you look on eBay.
Just pointing out these types of Bibles would explain the thin form factor.
I am not ruling out a day planner, but how many have gold edge pages?
