I'm an unvaxxed, unwaxed Aussie from Sydney who's losing his job in 38 days. AMA about the state of affairs in my (once) great country.
Most are definitely cooked and brainwashed. I haven't been able to go to a bar since our lockdown, but the consensus on social media is that if you aren't vaccinated you're infected. But I've got a beautiful Indonesian girlfriend, who albeit was forced to take the vaxx to continue her work in childcare, accepts me for who I am.
Unfortunately the 'scum' includes every person in my family, my girlfriend and all my friends. But they've made their decision just as I've made mine.
Sydney just came out of lockdown yesterday after 105 days after hitting 70% vaccination rate, but it's only for the double vaccinated. Unvaccinated can still only travel 5km from their homes and only shop for essentials (groceries, medical supplies) until December 1, where we're told the unvaccinated will supposedly get the same rights as the vaccinated. It's 'segregation day' painted as 'freedom day.'
If you saw any of the protests in Melbourne, that's probably the closest we have to real soccer hooligans. However I think you'll find most of the soccer hooligans will have willingly accepted the jab so they're allowed to attend soccer games in person again. Pussies.
Our corrupt premier Gladys Berejiklian resigned last week and was replaced with conservative Dom Perrottet, who's a catholic, a Trump supporter, doesn't believe in abortion or gay marriage, and a month ago came out to say he doesn't believe in segregating vaxxed from unvaxxed.
He hasn't made any changes yet, but I have faith that he'll come through in the end.
