DeSantis Administration Fines County $3.5 Million for Firing Employees over Vaccine Mandate

The Florida Department of Health (FDOH), under Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) direction, fined Leon County over $3.5 million this week after it fired over a dozen employees over vaccine mandates.

The FDOH fined the county $3,570,000 for an estimated 714 counts of violating a state statute, as DeSantis effectively banned the use of vaccine passports in the state. Yet, according to the governor’s office, Leon County proceeded with the requirement anyway.

On July 28, the county announced that employees had to be fully vaccinated by October 1. While the vast majority, 700, complied, 14 did not submit proof, resulting in their termination.

“It is unacceptable that Leon County violated Florida law, infringed on current and former employees’ medical privacy, and fired loyal public servants because of their personal health decisions,” DeSantis’s office said in a statement.

“Governor DeSantis will continue fighting for Floridians’ rights and the Florida Department of Health will continue to enforce the law,” the statement added.

DeSantis, who in May signed Senate Bill (SB) 2006 in May, banning the use of vaccine passports in the state, addressed the hefty fine directly on social media.

“No one should lose their job because of COVID shots,” he declared, announcing FDOH’s move.

“We must protect the jobs of Floridians and preserve the ability of Floridians to make their own decisions regarding what shots to take,” he added:

The county has 30 days to pay the fine. However, Vincent S. Long, Leon County Administrator, said there is a “genuine disagreement about the applicability of the statute and rule” and suggested the county “will enforce its rights using any remedies available at law, if necessary.”

This is not the first battle the DeSantis administration has faced off against counties implementing vaccine mandates. Weeks ago, the City of Gainesville ultimately rescinded its vaccine mandate for city workers after a judge granted a temporary injunction against it. Similarly, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings (D) clarified in September that first responders would not lose their job for failing to comply with the county’s vaccine mandate.

Twitter on Tuesday afternoon said they found “no signs” Maxine Waters’ account was hacked and erased.

“A Twitter spokesperson declined to comment on Waters’ tweet but said “as is standard, we have open lines of communication with her office and have worked with them to ensure the account is secure. At this time, we’ve identified no signs of account compromise.”” – Reuters reported.

Low IQ Maxine Waters on Tuesday was mercilessly mocked after claiming a hacker erased her Twitter account.

The 83-year-old Democrat Rep. from California made these claims from her Twitter account.

3 Dead After Postal Worker Starts Shooting At USPS Memphis Facility

TENNESSEE – Police and other first responders were on scene of a shooting at a United States Postal Service facility in Memphis’ Orange Mound neighborhood Tuesday.

The FBI says three USPS employees are dead, including the shooter, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. WREG identified one of the victims as James Wilson, a manager at the facility.

There are “no active threats” and the “scene is secured,” Memphis police wrote on Twitter.

The scene is at 2801 Park Avenue – roads in the area were blocked off.

The Postal Service released this statement: “The Postal Service is saddened at the events that took place today in Memphis. Our thoughts are with the family members, friends and coworkers of the individuals involved. The Postal Service will be providing resources to all employees at the East Lamar Carrier Annex in the coming days and weeks.”

The ATF and FBI are assisting local authorities. A motive for the attack remains under investigation.

Biden appoints veteran diplomat to oversee Afghan resettlement efforts

Jones previously served as the ambassador to Kazakhstan, as well as a special representative to both Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Biden administration on Tuesday appointed veteran ambassador Elizabeth Jones to lead the U.S. government’s efforts in relocating and resettling Afghan refugees.

Jones is replacing Ambassador John Bass, who previously was in charge of the relocation efforts within Kabul the State Department announced.

Jones previously served as the ambassador to Kazakhstan, as well as a special representative to both Afghanistan and Pakistan.

State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement that Jones “will assume oversight of the entire Afghanistan relocation effort, from our ongoing efforts to facilitate the departure of individuals from Afghanistan to their onward relocation and resettlement from the United States.”

The U.S. has selected eight military bases that can house some 50,000 Afghan refugees.

According to the State Department, Jones has been serving as a diplomat for more than 35 years in various positions across the globe.

DC Subway Passengers Forced to Walk Half-Mile Out of Tunnel After Train Derails

A subway train derailed underground outside Washington, DC, on Tuesday evening, forcing passengers to walk almost half a mile through the tunnel to safety, according to local reports.

The derailment occurred on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (WMATA) Blue Line on Tuesday afternoon at about 4:53 pm, between the Rosslyn and Arlington Cemetery stations in northern Virginia.

According to a WMATA spokesperson, no injuries were reported, but passengers were asked to stay on the train for roughly an hour before being directed to walk the 1,900 feet out of the tunnel to safety. The subway system's tunnels contain walkways along one side, opposite the high-voltage third rail used to power the trains, for use in case of emergencies or maintenance.

At least three people required some sort of medical attention, according to local media, including one person who reportedly suffered a panic attack.

The situation created a major traffic jam as it forced trains along the Blue Line, which stretches from the city's eastern suburbs in Maryland to Springfield, Virginia, in the southwestern DC suburbs, to come to a halt. However, WMATA tweeted that it was gathering shuttle buses to the area to get commuters moving again.

Iran Begins Large-Scale Air Defense Drills

On October 12th, Iran’s Armed Forces launched a large-scale military exercise, involving air defense units and domestically-developed military hardware.

The joint aerial maneuvers, attended by air defense divisions of the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and codenamed Modafean Aseman Velayat 1400 (Guardians of Velayat Sky 1400), kicked off in the country’s central desert areas.

During the exercises, domestically-developed, air defense missile systems, radars, reconnaissance equipment, electronic warfare devices, communication systems and a visual surveillance network were put to test.

Commenting on the first phase of the drills, Brigadier General Qader Rahimzadeh, commander of the country’s Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base, said the deployment of air defense systems was carried out, with a special focus on mobility and rapid reaction of operational forces and in accordance with principles of passive defense to deceive the mock enemy.

Rahimzadeh added that manned and unmanned aircraft of the Army and IRGC conducted reconnaissance sorties over the area, before detection and combat systems carried out tactical and defensive operations against hostile aircraft. All stages of air defense, up to the phase of electronic impact (EI), were performed.

The senior Iranian military official said deployment of IRGC Regional Command and Control Systems (ROC), and operation of indigenous Me’raj, Fath-2, Bashir and Quds radar systems, tactical detection and reconnaissance systems, electro-optical systems in addition to electronic warfare systems were among other measures taken at the first stage of the war game.

“Formation of secure layers of air defense in order to protect the Islamic Republic of Iran’s airspace, besides comprehensive defense of sensitive centers of the country are among the objectives of the exercise. Air defense units and operational forces of the Army and the IRGC are skillfully and intelligently undertaking their tasks round the clock under the operational auspices and control of the country’s joint air defense base,” Rahimzadeh said.

Iran’s Armed Forces regularly hold military maneuvers to elevate their preparedness and military prowess.

It’s been a busy month for Iran’s armed forces, as both the regular army and the IRGC have held several military exercises, especially near the Azerbaijan border.

They picked the Illuminati rather than other conspiracy groups because the imagined world of shadowy, controlling elites seemed funny and absurd.

In the hunt, Wall joined 84 different Facebook groups, messaging countless people for five months on WhatsApp and created a fake Tinder profile.

"I scouted out the Freemasons; I tried to go in drag because obviously they only accept, like, cis males at Freemasons Victoria," Wall said.

"Literally just followed every lead that was possibly given to me."

What they found surprised them. They ended up making friends with a number of people within the community.

The 2020 Election Wasn’t Stolen, It Was Bought By Mark Zuckerberg

The true story of how Mark Zuckerberg privatized the government's voter registration and vote counting for Democrats in 2020.

During the 2020 election, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent hundreds of millions of dollars to turn out likely Democratic voters. But this wasn’t traditional political spending. He funded a targeted, private takeover of government election operations by nominally non-partisan — but demonstrably ideological — non-profit organizations.

Analysis conducted by our team demonstrates this money significantly increased Joe Biden’s vote margin in key swing states. This unprecedented merger of public election offices with private resources and personnel is an acute threat to our republic, and should be the focus of electoral reform efforts moving forward.

The 2020 election wasn’t stolen — it was likely bought by one of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful men pouring his money through legal loopholes.

Partisans Running Local Election Offices

The Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL) and The Center for Election Innovation and Research (CEIR) passed a staggering $419.5 million of Zuckerberg’s money into local government elections offices, and it came with strings attached. Every CTCL and CEIR grant spelled out in great detail the conditions under which the grant money was to be used.

This is not a matter of Democrats outspending Republicans. Private funding of election administration was virtually unknown in the American political system before the 2020 election.

Big CTCL and CEIR money had nothing to do with traditional campaign finance, lobbying, or other expenses that are related to increasingly expensive modern elections. It had to do with financing the infiltration of election offices at the city and county level by left-wing activists, and using those offices as a platform to implement preferred administrative practices, voting methods, and data-sharing agreements, as well as to launch intensive outreach campaigns in areas heavy with Democratic voters.

For instance, CTCL/CEIR funded self-described “vote navigators” in Wisconsin to “assist voters, potentially at their front doors, to answer questions, assist in ballot curing … and witness absentee ballot signatures,” and a temporary staffing agency affiliated with Stacey Abrams called “Happy Faces” counting the votes amidst the election night chaos in Fulton County, Georgia.

CTCL demanded the promotion of universal mail-in voting through suspending election laws, extending deadlines that favored mail-in over in-person voting, greatly expanding opportunities for “ballot curing,” expensive bulk mailings, and other lavish “community outreach” programs that were directed by private activists.

Reds Under Bed: Barnaby and Keith’s plot for Australia to subsidise China

The Coalition’s election war-chest will be brimming with fossil fuel donations thanks to demands by Barnaby Joyce and Keith Pitt to transfer $250bn from Australia to Chinese and other coal and gas companies. Michael West reports on the National Party’s latest brainstorm.

Looks can be deceiving. Former PM Tony Abbott might be running about Taiwan “beating the drums of war” with China but the National Party leadership, Misters Bā nà bǐ Joyce and Li Jing Pitt, are hell-bent on giving the Chinese big wads of Aussie cash.

The looming Federal Election will be like nothing Australia has seen before; the campaign funded by a deluge of political donations from the fossil fuel sector in return for massive public subsidies; and the irony is that a goodly chunk of it will go to Chinese companies, which are in turn controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

Bā nà bǐ Joyce and Li Jing Pitt, the two senior National Party reps in the government, are demanding a $250bn slush fund to subsidise the fossil fuels sector.

This is the quid pro quo, their trade-off, for signing up with the rest of the world to net zero emissions, for agreeing with the “neo-moderates” Scott Morrison and Josh Frydenberg who have recently seen the light on climate action, apparently along with Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.

The supreme irony of this grotesque grab for coal and gas donations is that it would transfer billions to the Chinese. What does China control here in fossil fuels?

The gigantic coal port, Port of Newcastle, Yancoal Australia, coal miner CITIC Australia, gas pipelines operator Jemena and Alinta Energy, to name a few.

There are many more, and many more fossil fuel companies besides which are financed by banks such as Bank of China, and which will need to be bailed out when the music stops in the fossil fuels sector.

Chairman of the Energy Security Board, Kerry Schott, said the other day that coal power would be gone from Australia by the mid-2030s. But instead of letting financial markets do their thing, Deputy Prime Minister Joyce, Resources Minister Pitt and of course Nats senator Matt Canavan are galloping to the rescue of foreign corporations with their proposed $250bn “loan facility”.

Why should Australians prop up foreign fossil fuel corporations? Should not old-fashioned capitalism prevail? “Bugger off,” Matt Canavan told Sky News.

“We should tell them (international financial markets) to bugger off … even if it was to mean we pay more”.

“If we are forced to pay a little bit more on our mortgages, we should do that,” he said. Matt and his National Party colleagues Barnaby and Keith – or rather, Bā nà bǐ Joyce, Li Jing Pitt and Mǎ xiū Canavan – ought to be shortlisted for the Mao Tse Tung Medal of Honour for Services to the People’s Republic for advocating this inspirational concept that Australian home-owners must subsidise China’s business elite.

Their slush fund proposal would not merely bail out the Chinese, it would rescue a host of other multinational corporations too, almost all of which deploy tax haven structures to eliminate their contribution to Australia.

Structural changes in banking after the crisis

The following report presents the Group’s conclusions on structural changes in

the banking sector after the crisis. The first message is that while many large advanced

economy banks have moved away from trading and cross-border activities, there

does not appear to be clear evidence of a systemic retrenchment from core credit

provision. Second, bank profitability has declined across countries, and individual

banks have experienced persistently weak earnings and poor investor sentiment,

suggesting a need for further cost cutting and structural adjustments. Supervisors

and authorities should monitor banks’ adjustment, assessing any risks that may

emerge, but also play a role in facilitating the process by removing impediments

where necessary. Third, in line with the intended direction of the regulatory reforms,

banks have significantly enhanced their balance sheet and funding resilience and

curbed their involvement in certain complex activities. Nonetheless, market

participants and authorities should not become complacent about the progress to date and press on with the implementation of reform.

The adaption of the banking sector to the post-crisis operating landscape

warrants ongoing close attention. I hope that this work provides a useful resource by

documenting the state of ongoing structural change in banking, and providing a

starting point for further in-depth analysis.
