Coyotes got 8 of our cats over the years. I got a little payback with a 45.70 (yeah, overkill I know, but it was hate-filled therapy.) One was nice - I got downwind of it and snuck up on it from behind as it sat in the brush and watched the cats in the yard. Took that one with a .22. But then I got some monster dogs who assumed (and LOVED) the job of chasing the cunning little bastards every night. Dogs outweighed the coyotes by 2x or 3x. No more free cats for the yotes after that. Cats are pretty cool. Natural born killers for sure. Sorry for your coming loss, anon.
