I'd add to that, an inability to accept they could ever be wrong about anything, and massive egocentrism. Everything they do screams: look at me, aren't I great? Even their apparent good deeds are done not for the benefit of the receiver but for their personal glory.
I know a narcissist who would buy expensive gifts for his girlfriend not because he cared for her but so he could boast to friends and family what a wonderful person he was to buy xyz for his girlfriend. It was all about self-glorification.
I'm really wary of this type - they wreak havoc in the lives of all whom they come in contact with. And there's plenty of narcissists about these days. They have a total lack of humility so are not difficult to spot what you know the personality traits to look for.
