Rabbi Marvin Hier is the Dean and Founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles California

He received his rabbinic ordination from the Rabbi Jacob Joseph Theological Seminary in New York, and then worked at Schara Tzedek Synagogue, an Orthodox congregation in Vancouver, Canada, where he served as Rabbi for fifteen years. Concurrently, he was Hillel Director at the University of British Columbia. In 1977, he founded the Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) and the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the center of Holocaust studies in Los Angeles. Rabbi Hier is the recipient of the Chevalier dans L'Ordre Nationale du Merite of France.
