>Feeling like you no longer have much in common with the people you are surrounded by.
Began years ago, simply for not knowing anything about TV shows & movies. Was called "weirdo";
Then for recognizing that the bigger the brand "name", the more substandard it was. Bashed for simply avoiding them; Called "weirdo" and worse.
Realizing that everything mass-advertized was pushed for a reason. Quantity (supersize) of cheap crap (profit) over quality;
Fakebook was the nail in the coffin.
With "friends" (family) like this, who the hell needs enemies in the first place? (Pathalogical dishonesty seems to go hand-in-hand, more contageous than the common cold. People are USERS and don't even try to hide it. It's like a badge of honor. They're on their phones all day at work, at gatherings, etc. therefore they ARE extremely important! (*These are not Drs., Lawyers, LEOs & such who would need to be on-call.)
They can have their beliefs, preferences, and priorities, but the resentment towards somebody choosing not to conform to whatever tv/entertainment industries/COMMUNISTS dictate is too much to stomach.
As the saying goes, "No love lost".
Will continue to love and pray for those at a distance. It's a black hole here in Leningrad USA, but always has been. Thank GOD, was blessed to have lived in other areas/regions where it wasn't "THE way" with favorable odds of meeting people and knowing what TRUE friends can be like…
