Don't feel bad, my first computer was an MSDOS command prompt only machine where everything was green.
My first experience with internet was AOL 2.0 on a friend's computer. Luckily, my folks wanted to keep up with the Joneses, so I became a L33T H@XOR with my WAREZ and PROGgIEZ in no time.
So as a millennial, I had a more accessible internet than you, for sure, but still, when I compare the quality of user then compared to now, it just goes to show how important that barrier to entry is for keeping the low IQ normies out.
Remember the reason users started fleeing MySpace was when it started to be considered "trashy" with all the glitter and Bratz Dolls icons and etc. There are many a SJW article about how racist we are for bailing as soon as teh blackz start occupying a space. Twitter at one time was very worried the same thing would happen to them. Twitter, if you didn't know, has always been VERY black, because they are more likely to use the internet from a mobile phone than a computer, and also they're into celebrity gossip.
