Well; the shit has finally hit my fan. Verizon today announced their requirement for mandates. They invoke Brandon and the OSHA so in their minds that makes it all OK. The off the books date varies according to work groups and particulars. Those working at home I recall are not required to vaccinate. Contractors, etc. are required to vaccinate.

I will leave the company as there is no way on God's green earth I will take the vaccine. SpouseAnon is pissed and I will probably end up divorced. Oh fucking well.

What is so fucking sad is that Verizon and the other companies will cave and a shit load of people will lose their jobs. By next April all this shit will be done with as Merck and others will have therapeutics, as well, the new testing will show COVID to be damn near gone. Totally fucked.

Wish to God Trump had not fucked around so long. Too many of us will now be unemployed.

I saw where the CWA ( union ) rolled over and permitted AT&T to force vaccine mandates. Verizon, apparently will look at religious and medical exceptions. Those exceptions remain to be seen if they will be honored. I know three of us now that will leave the company.

I know myself and two others will go. No idea about anyone else. This mandate as I recall only applies to U.S. employees.

There is possible sunshine for many if the company accepts religious exceptions. We hope the CWA in New York (large Catholic area) will push for a religious exception and a weekly/biweekly testing. This will take everyone well past the years end and past the release of therapeutics by Merck and others. By then mandates will be obsolete…we hope.
