Watching the southern sky from the inter mountain west tonight. Bright star/planet in southwest maybe 3 or 4 fingers above SW horizon. Startled to see it moving faster than surrounding stars and then it went out. Just faded out and in a minute or so it came back. It slowly regained its brightness and assumed rotation like the rest of the sky and soon it was lost to the horizon like a setting star.
