EPI-BRAIN will harness big data and artificial intelligence to mitigate the impact of epidemics
EPI-BRAIN will allow stakeholders to merge public health data with data on the myriad complex factors that drive epidemics, including human and animal population movement, animal diseases, environmental and meteorological factors. Using advances in language processing and machine learning, EPI-BRAIN will provide a more comprehensive analysis that helps predict outbreaks and their spread.
The first EPI-BRAIN consultation, at the Hotel Intercontinental Geneva on 20 May 2019, was attended by a large, diverse and prestigious group of partners, ranging from member states, academia, private sector and philanthropic institutions.
Participants were involved in breakout discussions that aimed to seek feedback on the core elements of EPI-BRAIN.
Similar consultations were held at the:
Annual meeting of champions, China on 1 – 3 July 2019 and
Boston Children’s Hospital on 30 July 2019.
Intelligent Health AI conference, Basel Switzerland on 11 September 2019.
