That’s not their style and it gives the rest of the world too much time to react. Remember what they did with Hong Kong? That was an overnight kind of deal.
I believe the Chinese will go the Trojan horse route with Taiwan. They will intermingle with the population and then at the opportune time they seize control without any conflict (same as they did with Hong Kong).
