wondering how Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice would tie to formerly commissioned officers in receipt of retirement pay. 88 makes it a criminal offense for a commissioned officer to use contemptuous language against a government official—elected or not.

Butler retired from the military in 1931. By then, he was beginning to question US involvement in foreign conflicts. He had come to believe that warin particular WWIwas really a profitable business for the few and at the expense of thousands of lives. He thought of himself as a cog in the imperialist war machine.

Catsimatidis has publicly acknowledged donating $50,000 to the Putnam County Democratic Committee at de Blasio’s request, and learning later that the cash had been funneled to Democratic candidates for state Senate.

The businessman declined to talk about being interviewed by investigators, but told The Post on Monday that the donations were “100 percent legal” and that he had “zero control and zero knowledge” over where the funds were directed.

According to a January memo from the state Board of Elections, de Blasio and several associates — including top aide Emma Wolfe — were part of an operation that committed “willful and flagrant” violations of campaign-finance laws in a failed bid to help Democrats take control of the state Senate in 2014.

so why or to what benefit would a former R Mayoral candidate donate cash to deBlasio?
