Perhaps a clue; Gertrude Stein and her partner Alice Toklas were the world famous ex patriot arbiters of the arts; painting, poetry and literature.
Hemingway made the pilgrimage when still a journalist and was blessed by Stein, others were not.
When the second phase of the WW started Stein and Toklas lived in the countryside in German occupied France.
There the world famous Jewish writer remained unmolested through the entire second world war - while her co religionists were hunted and shipped to slave labor camps.
Stein and Toklas were left entirely alone. Was she perhaps a Kairite ? IDK but Stein's occult status whatever it was - protected her throughout the war and after when many were accused of collaborating with the NAZIs Stein and Toklas were never mentioned.

Maybe nothing, but it reminds anon of certain public figures who appear immune to the workings of exoteric causality.
Stein' art collection was also left alone by the NAZIS
>Note: One of the works that remained untouched in Gertrude Stein and Alice Toklas's rue Christine apartment was Pablo Picasso's Fillette à la corbeille fleurie. In 1968, the heirs of Gertrude Stein sold it to David Rockefeller, where it hung happily in his Manhattan townhome for nearly half a century. It was the highlight of the David and Peggy Rockefeller sale at Christie's this past May, where it sold for just over $115 million dollars.
There is little connection between exoteric politics and metaphysical reality.
