BETHESDA, MD: "Naval Support Activity Bethesda has been placed under a shelter in place/lockdown status Wednesday morning. According to officials, around 8:45 a.m., the installation received an anonymous phone call stating that there is a bomb at or near Building 10. Additionally, an active shooter on the base is also being investigated. Officials say all the gates are closed to non-emergency traffic and all personnel should shelter in place. Naval Support Activity Bethesda is the home to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda. Walter Reed tweeted that "All patient appointments have been cancelled."
