My Experiences with “Old Chinese Flu”

Oh yes I had it thru and thru,

The genuine old Chinese flu,

I fought him for three days and more

But finally he got the score.

I found myself prone on the bed

With pains back and chest and head,

My breath was short and hot and dry

My pulses quick and fever high.

Monday at 10 the crisis came

With sweat like floods of drenching rain,

And then the fever was no more,

But I was cold and weak and sore.

Five days I lay to gain some strength,

Then out of bed I got at length

And now I hope to bid adieu

Forever more to “Old Chinese Flu”
