Damn right they're dug in. This was never about politics–it is light vs. dark. They chose the dark, while braying about their righteousness. Their entire lives and identities are at stake. For them, thinking about being wrong means allowing the possibility that their entire lives have been wasted. More than wasted, that they actually fought for the dark side. They would literally rather die both the first and second deaths, than admit this.
This is why it must be ground into their eyeballs like glass shards. They must be dragged shrieking, to face the truth. It must be relentless and inescapable. This is best for them and best for us. None of this is a freaking game.
