wrongo. the asteroid that passed on the 18th (day of the twat) was only 8m in diameter. not the size of the ESB. and its closest approach was 0.7 lunar distances (~167,000 mi). the next KNOWN asteroid approx the size of the ESB will not pass until nov 21st, but its closest approach will be 15.1 LD (~ 3.6 milllion mi).

why do asteroids circle the sun but hemorrhoids circle your ass?

this is not financial advice. ALL stonks are massively overvalued (P/E ratio), and the future of the country is very uncertain. this is NOT a time to own ANY stonks. it is possible to still find undervalued real estate, and that is a "real" tangible asset with "real" INTRINSIC value (unlike "precious" metals). my 2ยข.

just because you gamble a few times and win a few times, does NOT mean that it was a good idea. after the big crash of 1929, it took until 1954 for the value of the stonk market to get back to where it was the day before the crash. you prepared to sit on a bad investment for 25yrs just to break even? (and that's not even allowing for inflation.) beside, it's a rigged game, and (You) are NOT one of the ones pulling the strings. if you like to gamble, bet on sports. at least with that kind of bet, there is always one winner. with stonks, when "they" decide to put the rug out, EVERYONE loses (except "them" and i remind you once again, you are NOT one of "them").

just realize that buying stonks is NOT "investing." that word is used so much people come to believe it. like the big lie. i'll make it simple to understand by making a comparison. if your brother-in-law asks you to loan him money so he can buy a second pizza oven for his pizza shop, when you give him the money, your money (INVESTMENT) goes directly into the business and is used to increase production and thereby profits. THAT is an investment. in contrast, when you buy a stonk (unless it's an IPO which are VERY rarely available to the public), you are NOT giving your money to the business who's name is on the stonk. you're giving your money to the person (bank) that already owns the piece of paper with the business name on it. NONE of your money goes to the business, and NONE of it increases their productivity or profit. you are NOT "investing" in the business. you are gambling on the "bigger idiot" theory. the theory that once you buy the stonk, a bigger idiot than you will come along and offer you more for that piece of paper than you paid to the previous idiot. you are BETTING on "the bigger idiot" theory. nothing less and nothing more. and while it's clear there is no shortage of idiots, it's the whales that control the price of the stonk. people or institutions that can buy/sell such large chunks of the stonk that one single transaction produces an immediate effect on the "price." never confuse "price" with "value." the VALUE of a stock is equal to the value of a piece of paper with some scribbling on it. period. that's why stonks for small "investors" is a suckers bet.

>telling people not to be free to do what they wish.

hardly. i can't control what anyone reading my post does. i'm sharing a perspective that may not have occurred to some of them, in hopes that it will help them make more informed decisions. i'm not taking their freedom to do what they wish. frankly, i don't believe grifting should be a crime. anyone stupid enough to fall for a scam deserves to lose their money. it's tuition in the school of hard knocks, and in MOST cases money better spent than college tuition.

>I don't own my house. I rent. The landlord doesn't have the right to spy on me just because I don't own the house.

you DO own the house for the period covered by the rent paid. temporary ownership is literally what you're renting.

owning something outright does NOT confer carte blanche ability to do as you please with the property.

you can't buy land and dump nuclear waste there just because you "own" it.

> "private ownership" of whatever is archaic, or passe, or a symptom of a failed culture,

> if Person A owns a productive garden, or a nice fancy car, that Person B somewhere is actually suffering because of that "inequity".

saying he's fine "owning nothing" is a FAR cry from what YOU wrote (above). just means he's content to rent and let the landlord handle the headaches that go along with ownership.

what YOU wrote does NOT follow from what he wrote. the validity of your points is NOT the issue. extrapolating from the simple phrase that he's ok with not owning titled property, to the shit YOU wrote is a logical ABSURDITY, and most CERTAINLY amounts to putting YOUR words into his mouth.
